fun with facebook...
Decade in review...(thanks, sj!!)....http://www.newlaunches.com/entry_images/1209/31/2000-2010.php
I stole that from sj's facebook page a few weeks ago...and, yes, I did ask permission to use it! See? There is good stuff on FB!
I also spent 2 hours Sunday night 'playing' memory games with the facebook friends I have that went to the same elementary school (K-5!). One of 'our' gang posted one of the 3rd grade pictures of the whole class, with about 25 or 26 kids in it, and about 6 of us from across the country were trying to name them all! And after a couple hours, we had almost all of them! I think I remembered the most last names. Then we started talking about the names of the kids...in our class, there were 5 'Jeffs'! Seriously, do you ever think of that, how different the names are now? Who is naming their boys Jeff anymore? Or girls named Lori (with an O not AU!)? Or Lisa? Or, we had a Mary, Jerri, & Terri, & a Sheri...or Ann...Amy...Arlene...Dan. Geez...well, I have no business saying anything about that...Tiffany isn't exactly a Lisa or Lori...:-/
I finally went to the doctor today about my flu symptoms that I've had for about 3 weeks. I wasn't going to, until Tif pushed me into it yesterday, and I thought about it & realized if I didn't, I might be barred from the delivery room!
~~~~~~~~~~~ oh, hey...congratulations, Scott Brown, new Massachusetts senator!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(R)
I watched this race all day!!! It's not so much a vote for Republican-ism, but it's more like what everybody thought when they voted for Obama....CHANGE!! And I'm not Republican...I'm independant or libertarian.
randoms...
I ordered another book from ebay, "Game Change". Next is "Lords of Finance", and the book about Cloward & Piven. I'm too much into the news & politics, and everything...
Still waiting for Mr Talan to make his grand appearance...at first he was in this big fat hurry, now he's settled down, he's a little bit ready, but the last time she thought he was ready, they sent her home, telling her to walk a lot. OMG! My poor baby! I know she's still got about 2 weeks to go, but she's so uncomfortable...acid reflux, which she's never had before! Her friends said to drink milk, but then her doctor said not to, cuz as soon as it hits your stomach it starts to sour....bleeeeaaahhh!
I've told you all about the friends I hooked back up with on FB, from forever ago...a couple of the boys (ok, men, now!) that I used to play with on recess in elementary school (the school that used to be 1/2 block down the street from where I live now!)...well, one used to be a lawyer in Chicago, but he just recently got appointed to be a federal judge...the other does documentary films for, like, the History Channel, TRUTV, etc...he's got pictures on his FB page of a lot of the places he's filmed, like Turkey, and Iraq...etc. Meanwhile, here I still sit...
I am still im-ing & emailing with my boyfriend from 30 years ago...we DO have tons of stuff to catch up on...not only does he have a full-time + job, he also plays guitar in a band And he's still hot...but I haven't gotten together with him...no time yet for either one of us...
I hope everybody will give what they can to the Red Cross for Haiti.. Text Haiti to 90999 and that makes an automatic $10 donation for ya, and I think that's a great way to make it easy for people! I don't have a phone to text with, but I just went to red cross.org.
Okay...I guess I'm done...I'm gonna watch Geraldo!
...short post...
Hey, everybody~! Sorry, I've been noticeably absent from all the blogs lately, not just mine (just so ya know I'm not prejudiced...I'm being a "blog snob" to everybody here)!!
I've been busy reading again, cuz, you know that's the favorite option on days where it's like 16 degrees F outside, and my deck & ramp get shoveled off every time I call the kid across the street that also runs my trash out to the street every week. I haven't asked him to shovel the deck/ramp this week. Bro came over and just out of the blue (Saturday), shoveled all of it, & out to the street, then sat down & asked could he go get anything for me? Wow! He's just a great guy. So he got me milk & candy bars & gum...etc...then my friend from church came over & helped me with a couple loads of laundry, & took my grocery list to WalMart for me, so I'm set...oh, and then her mom came over to get something from her, & she came in & met Truman too...my cat has groupies for God's sake! He's gonna need his own blog & FB page soon, I'm sure...sheeshhh...
Speaking of FB...I've been checking that a little more lately...and I'm really glad I must not've been totally awful to too many people in the past! Cuz between Google & this blog & FB, 4 people have got in touch with me (it's all okay), well, more than 4, but the others were from my high school class reunion, and today I got an email on there, and it was from Kim's first boyfriend, when we were 15 & running around with Kevin1...I'd go to his house & Kim would go in the opposite direction to B's...keep in mind, we walked all over town...we were 14/15! He just said he remembered me from 28 years ago...holy mother of God! He only remembered me because I'm using my high school graduation picture on there...oh, & duh, I use my high school last name too...
So, that's most of what I've been doing, I have lots of books from my ebay certificate, Middle East For Dummies, Bold Fresh, by Bill O'Reilly; Going Rogue by Sarah Palin; Always Looking Up...Adventures of an Incurable Optimist, by Michael J Fox! And that one means a lot to me, a blog friend in Arizona who is as crazy about ghosts & reading & writing as I am...! I've only 'met' one person that reads books the way I do (Christine, I'm talkin' 'bout you!) Read 3 or 4 at a time, just have one in every room you go in, and you'll always have something to read! The other night the scariest "Twilight Zone" was on. It's called 'The Librarian', and it's about a guy who's as addicted to reading as I am, but he works at a bank all the time & has an awful wife, & never has TIME to read. One day a nuclear (I think) bomb went off & wiped out the bank, his wife, his life...but he walked down the street & came upon the public library, which was all collapsed & everything...but there were books ALL OVER....the classics, poems, Shakespeare...he had all kinds of time now, he thought, so he grabbed an armful, & tried to find a place to sit in the rubble. Then he lost his footing, & his great big thick hornrimmed glasses that he was pretty much blind without fell off his face...as he's feeling around for them...he steps on them & they're crushed! I'll probably have nightmares about that tonight!
