I'm back, and, believe it or not, I don't have much of a scar...it's just red, but...oh well. So my thyroid's out, & all I have to do is take a teensy little synthroid pill every day. And I have the printed record of the report of my 'dissected' thyroid, and it said "no carcinoma"! Fantastic! But then it went on to say that the thymus & the left side were 'unremarkable'...hmmmph! lol! Now I almost wish I'dve said, " There's nothing wrong with it? Well, can I have it back?" Naaaahhhhh...I'm not all up for more surgery...hell, I still can't talk above a whisper. But I talk better when I drink something really cold, or eat ice cream or popsicles (or have a milkshake!)
Hey, I have a question...who was the green snickery-guy up there?? I thought I was pretty up on obscure cartoons, but I can't for the life of me remember who he was!
I never did go to a nursing home to recover, it was such a PITA for Kev to have to spend 4 or 5 hrs a day on the phone with Anthem & Cobra and all that shit (cuz I couldn't talk AT ALL then!), that I was good just being home, and working my legs out a little bit, & reading & watching tv! Now the only problem is that with my voice being gone, I can't even call anyone on the phone! Not even my girl, Tif, & ask how's Talan??
So I've been sucked into FB, just because I've had nothing of any interest to post, except I've had a whole helluva lot to say about the country, national debt, politics, (the whole Sestak afffair...). But I don't write about that on this blog, this is the one for fun stuff.
I didn't have a lot of stuff to do over the weekend, but my faithful tv was here to keep me busy...Billy The Exterminator was on a marathon yesterday, and Hoarders was on a marathon today! I love A & E!
Okay, maybe tomorrow something'll happen to write about...
BoUnCeS!! LibbY!

Yahoo! My gal is back! I think the cartoon character was Muttley, but I'm not positive. I am glad you are managing to recover in spite of our healthcare mess in America. I type reports every single day of people who make decisions which disease to buy their medications for. They opt for blood pressure instead of diabetes? Thyroid instead of blood pressure? It's a mess. I'm glad you have loved ones around you taking care of things. You will get your voice back, but I'm sure it sucks to be mute. Good thing you can go online and be "vocal" here. We miss you and love you and send you lots of healing energy!
thank you, autumnforest!! i was afraid nobody'd remember me! ...muttley!! yeah! i'll never forget his sneaky little snicker!! big ol' hugs!!
Good that autumnforest was able to recognize muttley. I never would have though I have seen that snickering dog a lot in print.
Yeah I am glad you keep the politics out of this blog you sound paranoid on FB :)
sj....paranoid??? naw, if i ever plan to use my imagination seriously that much, i'll be writing a whole shit-ton of books, & you can all say "i knew her when..."
Glad you are doing as well as you are!
Here's to a speedy recovery!
I never even heard of Muttley. But Autumnforest is correct. I Googled it.
So glad you are relatively well. The voice will come back. Your scar will recede to nothing. My scar sort of looks as if I had on a very thin necklace (choker-type) and got a little tan. Most folks don't notice it at all.
You're not a slacker! You've got spirit!
thank you, tlp! it's great to hear that from someone ELSE that had their throat slit!! BUT...was your surgeon really hot?? he was a bonus!! lol!
I'm really sorry you had to go through all of that in the first place. The fact that there was no problem seems like adding insult to (surgical) injury. I'm always wondering if there's some other way of telling other than going under the knife.
I'm hoping you're doing better. Too bad you can't sell your thyroid on E-Bay, but there might be a body-parts auction site somewhere.
x, thanks...i guess i could be pissed about it, but they did everything they could to find out first, including a needle biopsy...& the fact that it's not cancerous makes everythng worthwhile...
You snuck in under the wire!
I'de say welcome home but for two things.
#1 I'm late. You were back and home before I even noticed the second post
#2 Kidney stones DO hurt. Wait'll the bill comes.
(welcome, anyway.)
boney...2 Kidney stones DO hurt. Wait'll the bill comes."
ahhaahahaha!
Yes as others have stated, it is Muttley.
Can't talk above a whisper? We have to get you back to singing tunes at full force.
the national debt is always an issue. For as along as I've been alive there has always been concern about it.
I am very annoyed that BOTH parties seem to be getting ready to pin the national debt issues on the unemployed when the money they have used for unemployment is not even a fraction of what they have given out in corporate welfare. Really noble to throw hard working Americans who can't get back to work under a bus because Wall Street is buting themselves jets and the like. But as long as their friends are being taken care of, who cares if no new jobs are being created. Let the little people starve. I don't care what any clown in washington says, we are NOT getting better and we will have a double dip recession!
Also, if the job market does not improve, and they do cut unemployment to "save the national debt" watch the molotov cocktails go soaring throug the air and get ready for ccountless news stories of middle America living out of their cars! There is nowhere for these people to go back to work!
OK, rant over.
ricardo...yeah, every time i hear the gov't say we're recovering, i wonder who the hell they're talking to, to find this out!! Cuz I sure don't know any real person who got a job from that 'stimulus bill' that was supposed to keep unemployment under 8%...
the stimulus bill?!? My ass! I'm so frustrated. That was a pet project bill.
