...gonna die in a small town...that's probly where they'll bury me...

C'mon everybody over 40, be honest. Did you all have at least one or 3 of the Frampton Comes Alive album? Every person's apartment I went to a party at had at least one, in the collection of milk crates you could always steal from the back of the grocery stores!

Decided to waste time for the next few days thinking of old shit...hopefully I can get iv steroids this week, then I can really start looking forward to the wedding in November.

Like, as far as the song 'Flirtin' With Disaster'...pew...I not only flirted with it, I stripped down and obviously went skinny-dipping in the toxic cesspool!! Thank God for my healthy daughter!
"Here I go again on my own"...Whitesnake, for the 'young kids' out there. And there's always "Da-Doo-Doo-Da-Da-Da"...This is the best radio station in the world...106.9 Houston/Conroe. "I Went To The Danger Zone..."
I got an email today from a friend who is a nurse, and she said she's glad I didn't get Chantix. She said the doctor she works for doesn't even prescribe it now! Crazy shit, how certain people use it & it does well, but then there's people like me that would be scared as hell of it!

...

...You got no place to be Still you wonder where youre goin And why I had to leave I hear a voice and it says to me Find your way back...

I'm still trying...no, Nea, not sideways...I hope I'm smarter than that...but thanks for wondering, though. Okay...saw the psychiatrist Tuesday...he said it's a bad time for me, and he won't prescribe Chantix (I'm already on antidepressants, varied & sundry!) for me right now. Saw the psychologist today, and she said she's never in her professional life said to a patient, 'you couldn't have picked a worse time to try to quit smoking if you'd have sat and planned it!!'...so, yeah, I've cheated a little bit, but, I'm only smoking like 2 a day, and, honestly, NO, they don't taste good, either, so, trust me, it's not gonna last!!
Tif & R are still living here till they get married in Nov, and it's fun...them and 'their little dog too'! Her name is Lily, and she's a sheltie/Jack Russell mix! She's a really good little dog...rather in need of Prozac...damn, why can't I be all that happy all the time?...ahh, well. Actually, she's upstairs in her cage all day when they're both at work, because our back yard isn't fenced in anymore cuz of my ramp, and there's no way in hell I want to take a chance of her running away.
Tif & R were calling the electric company last week to check how much their bill will be in their new house...it seems that it's gonna be quite a bit more than their house payment every month! OUCH!!
I absolutely love "Two and A Half Men!" I never watched this show when it was on in the evenings much. But now...it is FUNNY as hell!!
Okay...that's really all that's up here, just thought I'd touch base so Christine doesn't have a holy shitfit cuz I didn't post!! lol!

...find your way back...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFs8G0yOtfc

Sorry Joe, I HAD to steal this! I sat and watched it til I cried again today...I got high for the first time at this concert, and I was probly high for a few days afterward! (I think I had fun, though...) I was actually 14 or 15!
This is the kind of stuff I'm trying to keep my mind on now...you know...FLUFF! But I'm finally eating again...4 days without it really isnt good for you, you know? I didnt....
So...it's been a month since I've smoked. I still want to, more than anything! For heaven's sake, I smoked for 28 years...and now I havent for a month? Puh-leez...
My psychologistis writing me a prescription for Chantix tomorrow. I guess one of the possibly side effects is suicide...I guess this means eithher way you wont smoke again....

what's the point/

I'm so fucking tired of being hurt. Why are people so Goddman mean? Does it make them feel good? All I can do now is hope & pray that I never treated anyone weaker than me like shit! I really don't think I ever did...but if I made anyone feel like this...damn me to hell.
Truly I hope karma comes back and bites him in the ass, and his little girlfriend...

Friday...a HUGE snow weekend is on the way!

EEeeeeeeeewwwwww! Ever seen the movie "Arachniphobia"?

No words are even needed for this picture...

This weekend here in Ohio we're supposed to get shit-tons of snow!! I'm actually a little bit excited about it, cuz, no matter what everyone says, I don't think we've gotten much REAL snow this year! Not like snow you could go sledding on, or anything, anyway. Or build a snowman in...or throw endless amounts of snowballs...Or build a fort to hide behind to ambush people...
However, we are supposed to get about 12 to 18 inches of snow here in central Ohio! More up toward Cleveland! Supposed to start snowing tomorrow morning, and keep going til Saturday afternoon!! Yippee! Okay...I'll shuttup...
I'm really looking forward to daylight saving time starting this Saturday night/Sunday morning. I love the extra hour of light!!
This morning, Bro picked me up at 9, so we could meet up with G at the lawyer's office. It went good...Mom & Dad left excellent records about where everything was...they were such special people...they were truly the last of a very special generation! And that does nothing but make me determined to do the same for Tif! The only problem I'd have is, well, I might not have a damn thing to leave...well...maybe a bag of Twizzlers and a roll of quarters, does that count?
It was good at the lawyer's office today, mostly because Bro rides motorcycles with him...they're both total riding freaks! Recently I know Bro's ridden down to southern Ohio, the hills down there, and California, Arizona, North Carolina, and all the states around it! They were talking about how the older they get, the less they want one of those motorcycles that you have to lean way forward to grab the handlebars! And they were both extolling the virtues of 'inversion tables''! Holy crap! Isn't Bro still 29, like I always remember him? Well, I guess not...the lawyer said that I was supposed to have a trust until I was 25...both my nice older brothers started laughing uproariously at that...while I sat there with a big ol' pout on my face, and asked the lawyer "And what's so FUNNY, huh??"...
Bro & G are both color-blind, and they were talking about how when the were little, they used to color the grass brown, and the dog green! I just said maybe that was a birth defect...like being BOYS is!! lol!

Tuesday, March 4th...voting day for Ohio...

This is the funniest ebay buyer's name I ever saw!! The sad thing is, I might not have even caught it if I was the seller!!

...and, I think this is what you get when you have dial-up, isn't it??

Well, I'm awake again, it's now really Tuesday morning, not just after midnight!

Bro & G were here last night...they came over around 7 last night cuz we all knew that we needed to get together to deal with all the stuff going forward after Mom's funeral and everything. And we actually had kinda a good time, sharing memories and everything, and I got to hear more about before I was born, everywhere they lived and everything...like Dearborn, Michigan, Battle Creek, Michigan, Massillon, Ohio, Argentina (for Dad's job), then down to here. G was talking about when they were in Argentina, he was 3 (had his 4th birthday down there!), Bro was only 1 or 2, and G was saying that one time when they were down there, they had been out of the hotel rooms, and when they got back, the windows in their rooms had been blown out by explosions in the street! That had to be huge explosions, cuz they were on the 11th floor!!, and then got moved to the 14th! His memory must be like mine, cuz he remembers what floors they were on and everything! He even totally remembers the trip down there, the plane ride took days because they went to New York City first, then to, maybe Cuba, it was before Castro's day. It was a propellor-type plane, and to me, that's amazing! Living in Argentina's amazing too!

Anyway, Bro showed up at the door at 7:15 with 2 huge pizzas and a case of beer, and we settled in to figure out what to do. Bro called Mom's lawyer at home at 9, and set up our appt with him for tomorrow morning, and he had a bunch of notebooks that Mom had been writing notes in for the last few years (neat to see her writing again!), and she had probably had 10 pages of things that were antiques, and she was specific about the things and where they came from...like a glass basket from her grandpa's grandpa!! Wow! How neat! There's all kinds of stuff like that in her house, and we're all trying to figure out how to split it. We're going to start out by doing what Mom & her brothers and sister had done, and all of us sit down and write down the 5 pieces of furniture we wanted the worst, and see how that goes, cuz, who knows, we might not even want the same things. So...I dunno...it's just gonna be a hard thing to do. But, we did have some fun last night, talking about things...G has Dad's car already, and he was telling us how this had gone wrong, and that had needed replaced, and it cost a lot of money...and Bro laughed and said, "You know Dad's looking down and laughing his ass off, like HAHA!, cuz you always buy old-ass cars & fix them!! Even if they're not worth it!!" haha...that's probably true!! G's always been a crazy-ass about cars...I asked him last night how many cars he has...he said "I'm not tellin'" God!! This is my 55 yr old brother!! not 16!!

And I told them about the time in Detroit that our car needed water, when we were on the freeway, a black guy stopped to help us, Dad got back in the car, and Kim asked if he told 'the spook' thank you? Just because he's been referring to black people all through Detroit as that!

Okay...I gotta get ready to go vote, Kev's dad is giving me a ride over there.

Friday night...

...4 1/2 days without smoking...not even smelling smoke! Actually, I guess that's the thing that makes this the easiest...I live alone, and nobody else is around smoking, so I can not smell it! Kev's dad went to WalMart with me today, and I went crazy in the candy aisle...ya know, Twizzlers, Jolly Ranchers, all that important stuff...

Oh, I got one hell of a surprise Sunday morning! The phone rang, and I looked at the caller id, and it said "unavailable" (well, it didn't say it...I had to read it...). I usually just ignore it when it doesn't tell who it is, but for some reason, I answered it, and it was a guy from my high school class of 1983 (!), who is doing a major part of planning our 25 year reunion!! Holy crap!! That was wild...he was someone who was friendly with everyone in school, but in a totally different group of people than me..(he wasn't a 'stoner', I was!). So that was neat, to catch up with him, find out what he's doing, where he is (Cleveland!). He said he met his wife 23 + years ago in Georgia when he was there, then they came back here...I said "she must really love you, to give up GA weather for Cleveland!!" So that's gonna be this Labor Day weekend...I said I might be there, but, honestly, I doubt if I will be. Not the least of the reasons is Tif getting married in Nov!
Seriously, it is SO damn cold, damp, windy, etc outside!!
Oh, yeah...Happy Leap Day. Or Sadie Hawkins Day...which means this is the day that women can ask a guy to marry them...(if they're stupid...).
God, I truly, truly want a smoke right now!! GRRRRRRR!!!

new life...

...Excerpts from a Cat's Diary:

Day 983 of my captivity. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices (minions!) tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...

...hahaha!! This is SO Truman!! Naahh...Trumie would never think like this about ME!! (I'm a super demi-god when it comes to fooling myself..).

Well, I'm doing it..I've been cutting down on cigarettes during the last couple weeks...Sunday it was 5 a day...and I had my last one at noon yesterday... :-/ ! Oh, holy shit, it SUX!! I NEVER thought I'd miss it this bad!! But, it's for a good reason...no, it's not my healh (like I give 2 shits about that...). It's just so I can afford Tif's wedding dress! Figure it out...I usually go thru a carton a week...cartons cost 40.00....x 4 = $160.00 a month...definitely worth a few weeks of hell to quit....food already tastes better, my sense of smell is 100% better!
I could've broken down bigtime, & asked Joe to bring me a pack tonite, when he called, but I didn't even do that! I sure did whine about it, though...
I just saw a cool little sign in a catalog...it says..."If you want to make God smile, tell him your plans..." ...geez, that would make anyone smile!!
So, Kim called me the day Mom's obituary was in the paper. First time we've talked since Sept '06. She was crying about Mom when she called, then we were both doing the 'girly-thing'. Crying, apologized, straightened some stuff out...no, it's not perfect, but, you know what? Besides Tif & Joe, it's the strongest relationship I have...and even longer than either of those!! So, besides my brothers...it's worth fighting for, cuz it's the strongest thing I have to hang onto in the 'real world' (you know, x...meatspace!!).
Speaking of brothers...I'm actually gonna stop calling "Psycho" Psycho...from here I'm gonna refer to him as G..Yeah, I'm being soft, but, well...we're getting along all of a sudden...I think it took this slap in the face for us to realize "I don't have any parents anymore".
So, I'm gonna see about buying a burial plot up in the 'family's' cemetary...not owned by our family, but it's where all my family is on my mom's side...and the whole rest of the county, I think, belongs to my family...I know that every time you go by a house up there "Uncle D lives there...Aunt J lives there...Uncle B and Cousin C live there...Cousin L & his wife live there...". Yeah...that's the area I belong. Of course, after I'm dead, it's only a body...for all I care, you can stick a bone up my ass and let a dog drag me away...
All right...I have to get off of being all depressed & shit...give me another day or two...And why, oh, why, did I EVER choose that week, the week before Mom died to quit smoking?? Grrrrrr!!

Friday, Feb 22, 2008

Mom passed away Feb 16, 2008. It was actually peaceful for her, I believe. She was in the hospital, and the brain cancer had come back, and they also did a cat scan and found that it was in her kidneys, liver, etc. We were talking about getting hospice, but her nurse said to wait a few days, she wasn't needing the decision made right away. So Tif and I sat on either side of her bed, talking quietly, and giggling a little bit with her about, ummm, the game 'Trouble', the card game 'Rack-O', 'Scrabble', the stuff she had liked to make, "Pigs in Blankets" (I always hated that...It was a huge smoked ham she cut up and rolled the pieces in cabbage leaves. Ew...sorry Mom! Nothing personal!

We were there holding her hands for her last two hours, but, like I said, she was at peace, as we all were. We were blessed to have that last 2 hours to talk to her, and tell her what a great job she had done as a Mom! (and a Grandma!, as far as Tif said, and I agree!).
I found the pictures above on the internet, and, amazingly, they both look like some of the barns and sheds on what used to be my Grandma H's farm, where Mom was born and grew up...Now it belongs to Mom's brother, Uncle D, who is Boo's dad!
This is very special to me, also...Tif is definitely my go-to girl! She took me up to the funeral home with her Monday night, and she did Mom's hair and nails for her, and at the funeral she read something she had written about them when she was little! She made me very proud!
Okay...that's all for now....

Sunday the 10th!!

Man, good thing this little kitty doesn't have a covered litterbox like Truman!! She'd be 'lost and gone forever, my darlin' Clementine...'

This would be a good car alarm, wouldn't it?? Reminds me of the time Tif and I were lost a little bit out in the country, and went past a car with a COW laying on top of it!! Hooves would even be harder to climb with than paws, you know? lol!

Okay, everybody, it's for real officially now! Tif & one of her bridesmaids & I went out yesterday and found THE DRESS!! And she only tried on 4 dresses~!
It's a perfect size 4, and it looks like it was designed for her and fitted to her! The women at the bridal store all came in and all have the same opinion...'course, they probably work on commission, too...they said they can't see where it would need any alterations or anything, it's long for her, but they said this brand, you can order in a petite at the same price, and it's 3 inches shorter, which is perfect! So...that's where any income tax I get is going!! To me, I WANT to pay for her wedding dress...that's kind of her "launch" off into the rest of her life, ya know? I never had a wedding dress per se. The first time I got married, well, it wasn't like a fancy wedding or anything, although it was in a church.
It was really funny, they brought her a 'crinoline' to try on, under the dress, to pouf it out, and everything. And the lady that worked there had to be on her knees behind Tif under the dress to make sure it hung just exactly right and everything...and as if that wasn't funny enough, she crawled out from there and said "Oh well, honey, at least you're one of the customers that wears underwear..". Eeeeeewwwww!! The worst part of that? You don't BUY a crinoline...you RENT it!! Aw, c'mon!! That just creeps the shit out of me!! It would you too, if you saw the makeup stains on the dresses sometimes! lolol!!!
So I want to get it ordered in the next couple weeks or so, cuz it'll take 12 to 15 weeks to get it. Wow...that's all I can do is sit here and whisper to myself over and over...wow....
I was up most of the night watching "Single White Female", it came on around midnight. Good movie! And "You've Got Mail" just ended...before that it was "Dumb and Dumber"...and in between, I'm reading one of the Mary Higgins Clark mystery books...yup...it's been one of the most memorable weekends of my life! Oh yeah...Tif also took me over to show me through their new house, and it is beautiful! Big backyard, big deck, split level 3 bedrooms...they've already ripped all the kitchen cabinets out, and showed me the ones they're going to order, and they're in the middle of scraping the wallpaper in the big bathroom upstairs.

It's Friday!!

Woohoo! Throw Momma From the Train is on!! I LOVE this movie!! My yittle Tif PoohBear got me hooked on this when she was 5, for God's sake!! Between this and Cinderella, our evenings were covered!! And I just happened to think...we lived in an upstairs apartment, the stairs were just regular wood, completely uncovered, but they did have a handrail....
...thank God I never really treated her like Momma in the movie!! She'dve pushed my ass straight down those stairs!! And the guy in the downstairs apt would've come outside and said "What happened?" And Tif would've looked up at him with those big blue/green eyes and sniffed a couple times and said "Mommy fall down and go boom, Henry..." hahaha!
I do remember us calling each other "Owen" sometimes! Just to see who could sound more like Momma!! Some good times!!
I really have to give a great big high-five to all the people at Time Warner Cable here!! They had set up an appointment to hook me up with the digital phone service here, Feb 5 between 4 & 7! And I still have the same phn number, was never without service, and it is just like a regular phone connection, they just had to change the connections of some wires in the box outside, the jacks & modem in here, and...voila! I'm off Verizon, and on TWC, which is a lot cheaper, has all the features, and ...FREE LONG DISTANCE from my home phone! Yeah, I know a lot of people get that with their cell phns, but...I'm old, remember? So, even not counting long distance, I'll save $50/month!! Wow! I NEED THIS!! And I know if the electricity goes off, my phone goes off...so what? That's why I have a cell phone, just for emergencies. And, unbelievably, one of their supervisors from a different town stopped over the next day to check on the cust svc I got! Sheesh!! Who does that?? Yup...I'm a cheapskate...out of necessity. I was as soon as I was 18, and moved out on my own with Tif...if I didn't have the cash, I didn't buy it! And, honestly, I don't mind it!
I read a quote by Arthur Conan Doyle last night that I'll never forget again..."Character is shown by behavior". As a matter of fact, maybe I should have it tattooed on me!!
I'm busy getting most of the stuff straightened up in here cuz I really want to hire someone to come in here and wash all the walls and everything, for spring cleaning, so I'm hoping that Tif knows someone who needs a job!! She's got WAY too much to do right now...she called last night and was scraping the wallpaper off a bathroom! That's gonna be a big job.

I have one question, if anyone out there can tell me what their theory is...why are people so Goddamn mean and sneaky? And then totally lie about it, like you'll be too stupid to figure anything out? Come on...that's total sociopathic behavior, thinking you're smarter than everybody else...kinda like "Scott Peterson-ish"...is it in the water? Or just society as a whole? And don't say "I didn't used to be like that..this or that person made me like that!" Funny, but most of the people I've heard do this are guys, not women...

Busy Super-everything weekend!

A stunning multi-generational family photograph...'cept I think there might be a couple generations in the middle that aren't there...

It's been a pretty neat weekend...maybe cuz I haven't done much of anything. Just read and, laundry, watch tv....I guess that's what old people call "puttering around the house". I guess that makes me an "old person"...oh well...you live and learn...that's the difference between a woman and a girl. right?

Oh, I have a "Mom update"! She's out of the nursing home and living in an senior apartment complex, and likes having an apartment to herself, not a bed with room-mates that come and go! I'm gonna go out and see the apartment this week, it sounds nice. I know Bro and wife and some of their kids were in and out of there before she went in, just to kinda furnish it and stuff, because once when I called his cell, he was out there with his tape measure and they were arranging the furniture and everything!...and, I'm not really sure, but I think it has a lot more than I ever would've thought a retirement community would...she even has an aide or nurse or someone come to her three times a day to take her down to the dining room to eat, and stop by to give her her pills in the morning! Wow, she's in a place that's really going to be good for her when she starts meeting some of the other people. But I absolutely hate the fact that I can't get out there whenever I want to go, I have to get a bus...but...I'm at least able to call her every day or two...she even has her home phone number now, we got it transferred last week...and I know my mom, that's just one step that makes it feel like 'home' to her. It just, well, seems so wrong that I'm sitting here wanting her to make friends and all that...it's just not fair to her that anybody else should have to take care of that for her! You know, I don't mind doing it, I wish I could do more, I just hate that life gets to be like this in the end...but, I know she's got an active mind, she reads as much if not more than I do...she just would never read, like Stephen King, or any stuff like that...she's more into stories about people in England, just calm, peaceful stories.

I called Boo Sunday morning, and she told me something hilaious! She said 'I was gonna tell you! I saw W last week in WalMart, in one of the towns up there' (W is the boyfriend that Mouse and I had, off and on more or less!). Boo never liked him much, always was telling me I could get better...yeah...not Mr Right, he was Mr Right Now, and, at certain points in life, that's what you need. Anyway, she said he had a little girl (around 7ish) with him (a daughter???)...and we both kinda giggled at that. Then she said 'Yup...she's quite the little pudge...'. That's amazing, because he was skinny, like me! She must've read my mind, cuz she said 'and he still looks exactly the same as he did 20 years ago (oh, how fair is that?), skinny, same glasses, same hair, everything! We just kinda talked about the Super Bowl get-together she was making cookies for, and other stuff, and then got off the phone. Last night I called Mouse and told her about it, and she got a helluva laugh out of it too! Especially when I said 'He has a kid?? Eeeeewwww..'. She told me years ago that he'd called her to see if she wanted to go out for a beer...and she had said 'Well, no, I can't...I'm about 8 months pregnant, it probly wouldn't look good' hahahahaha! Come to think of it, I got an email last week from another friend up there I used to work with, telling me about running into someone from the store...odd, isn't it? Almost like I feel like I'm sitting here with a spiderweb of knowledge over the whole part of Ohio...

WABBIT, WABBIT!!

Wow, yesterday was amazing...most of it was, anyway...
Tif's not doing hair anymore right now...she quit a couple weeks ago, & she's a leasing agent for a new apartment complex right outside of town! I went out there for a few hours yesterday, to see her office, all the people she works with, some apartments...they're really nice, sliding door off the bedroom to the pond, lots of room in the 1-bedroom apt, walk-in closets, the only drawback that would hold me back is (well, besides the fact of this house) is that it's out of town, and I wouldn't be able to just hop on my scooter and ride around here in town...and, to me, that's unacceptable.

Hmmm....ok, ok...yeah, I just dug this picture out...Tiffany drew it in 2nd grade...
I crack my ass up! Sorry..had to!

The offices of the apartments is huge! It's not just a bunch of boxed off offices or anything, it's kinda like one big room. Which, at the moment, is great...but, you know, what happens sooner or later when one person's mad at another? You know, no matter what you might think, it's gonna happen someday!! But for the moment, it's neat! Tif has their Jack Russell mix in there with her cuz her boss has her Yorkie...oh my God, they're a hoot! But they don't cause trouble or anything, they get along really good! So, after yesterday, we were both excited cuz Tif & fiance sign papers on the house tonight (they did! woohoo!~!)...
The realtor was as happy as they were, hugs, etc, Lowe's gift card, cuz she wished every couple could be that happy. After they got done at the lawyer's office, they were going over to the house to meet some friends & go out to dinner tonight. The phone rang righjt after she had told me what was up, so I figured she was happy & jumping around. Ummm...she was jerked to beat hell, they all were! Cuz within 10 minutes of signing for the house, they go over there and...it's flooded cuz a pipe burst from last night's weather!! At least they caught it, and turned the water off...she just needed to come over and get some towels...so the house isn't flooded to the roof or anything...I don't wanna hear the words 'bad luck' here, or anything! Nahh, it's all okay, a maintenance guy from the apartments came & checked, it just needs a new pipe, and, well, she called and came over because "Mom!! Can I come over and borrow a lot of towels, please??" My poor little Tif-Pooh-Bear!! And I heard her mutter as she stomped out the door with an armload of towels..."Guess I know where the Lowe's gift card is going..."

When I got home and crawled in bed last night, I grabbed one of my old books to read , "Soylent Green"....and that's what I've been doing for the last 24 hours! That book is so weird, especially during this election year! I'm trying to figure out which political party is spoken of as being the bad guys here. At one point you just know it's the Repulicans, the next thought is "No, it's the Democrats, this is what happens when the government thinks they're the ones who need to take care of us, cuz we're too stupid to do it ourselves...but, either way, it's 1999, all birth-control is against the law, and the USA and everywhere else is overpopulated, almost everybody is homeless, living in rusted out cars that have been there for years, cuz we ran out of oil forever ago, there's no heat or electric, and about all women have about 10 kids, that are all sick cuz it's GOOD to have babies, all the old people are half-dead, but our medicine has been good enough to keep them alive instead of them dying when their bodies wear out...and, New York City has 35 million people living in it...and there are almost 7 billion in the US...
cheerful reading, huh? This is honestly one of the best books I ever got off ebay! It's actually a screenplay of the movie Soylent Green (wait'll ya figure out what that is!), called "Make Room, Make Room!" from like 1940's or 50's!
Then the other night I woke up about 4 am, and the movie "Philadelphia" with Tom Hanks was just starting...so I had to stay awake and watch it!! And cry, of course...

Today's Sagittarius Horoscope for Jan 30, 2008
You must weigh your desire to get everything done against your physical limitations, dear Sagittarius. You run the risk of wearing yourself out and getting sick just as you finish. Enlist the help of others, if you can, for all those chores and errands that absolutely need to be done. Anything that can wait, you should definitely leave. Your health needs to come first! More...

This is my life this week!!

Tuesday night...

Well, in light of what happened tonight, all of these pictures are in honor of Truman...the first two are him, the last one is what I could see Tru doing for me if he ever had the chance after tonight!

What happened is..nothing, thank God for Truman being what I originally thought was a psycho cat, and the kid across the street who takes my trash out to the street Tuesday night.
I was back in the laundry room where the garbage can and the back door are. I gathered the trash up & got it all ready for me to put it out the back door onto the deck. All of a sudden, I realized that Truman was kinda stalking up behind me toward the door, I had the inside solid door open and the screen door with the solid bottom half, and the top half is a screen was closed. The
weather outside was really warm today, even though it was windy and rainy off and on, it just smelled good, you know? The high today was 50 degrees! The high tomorrow is going to be 22 degrees! Yup...this is Ohio in January, all right...Right now we're under a severe thunderstorm warning for the night!!
Anyway, at first I thought Truman was just trying to smell the outside air, and feel the breeze coming in. So I turned around and was telling him, go back, you can't go outside, good kitties aren't allowed outside, just like good kitties aren't allowed in the basement, remember? I started walking back to the front of the kitchen, kinda nudging him with my legs to push him, cuz he was so adamant about getting to the door, and I wanted to get him back so I could get him out the other kitchen door and shut him in the rest of the house. He just kept dodging around me trying to get to the back door...like he knew I wasn't coordinated enough to dance around like him (the little showoff!). I finally thought I had the way to the back door blocked and took a couple steps. All of a sudden, he hissed at me, and launched himself at my leg!! He has never hissed at a person before! Especially the person that lets him sleep in my bed every night, scoops his litter box every couple days, makes sure he has a bowl full of fresh water & one full of Deli-Cat all the time. Damn~! I just stood there in shock, watching him for a minute to see what he was gonna do next! He GLARED back at me, he never blinked, or looked away, nothing! I just kind of walked back toward the kitchen for a minute, to see what he'd do. We just looked at each other for about 5 minutes, then I went back toward the back door, so I could get the bags of trash out, and he let me past him with no problem, just watched me...he didn't try to run out or anything while the door was open, and I got the trash bags out, and shut the door. As I was walking past him, I made sure he knew I thought he was a 'bad boy'!
I came in here and called B, and told him everything was out on the deck, and he said he'd be right over...he showed up a minute later, brought my mail in, we sat here & talked for a few minutes, he was telling me his 17th birthday was yesterday...that's neat! Then we went to the back door, and he went over and opened the inside door...then pushed open the screen door, and just jerked back and shut the screen door again, looked back at me and said "That's one of the biggest raccoons I've ever seen!!" Turns out there was a raccoon about 3 times the size of Truman standing on top of the bags I'd just put out! Keep in mind, we're in town, not even close to being out in the country! I've seen then around here before...they live in the sewers, I've seen them crawling down the storm drains! But now there's one living under my freaking deck!! Yuk!! B went back outside a couple minutes later with a flashlight (and a broom for protection! I forgot, I have a metal baseball bat in my bedroom...if I'dve thought about it, I would've gotten that for him! That would've been more secure than a damn wooden broom!). The raccoon wasn't there, so he took the bags out to the street. After he went home I started feeling like the biggest shithead in the world! Truman had been trying to save my life, and I called him a bad boy!! I've been telling him "Mommy's sorry!!" And petting him, and making a big deal over him, and he is loving it!

Okay, I'm done...I just thought my great, brave cat deserved this!

Saturday...and I'm AWAKE!!

Okay, first off, I NEED to post this really stupid joke! It's been years since I did this, but it's worth it...and don't have a mouthful of anything when you read it! (I know this from experience!)

HOW THE FIGHT STARTED

I rear-ended a car this morning. So there we are alongside the road and slowly the driver gets out of the car . . . and you know how you just-get-sooo-stressed and life-stuff seems to get funny? Yeah, well, I could NOT believe it . . . the guy was a DWARF! He storms over to my car, looks up at me and says, "I AM NOT HAPPY!" So, I look down at him and say, *"Oh Yeah, well, which one are you then?"*. . . and that's when the fight started!

I know, that's offensive as hell, but it's so damn funny I couldn't stop myself! I got it in email 4 days ago, and I'm STILL laughing!!

I actually woke up this morning at 8:30!! True, I did stay in bed and watch the news and read & eat & doze until 10 or 11, but, I've actually been up and out of the shower since 1! And I feel like laughing again...obviously, you can tell from the joke..or not, I guess, if you didn't find it funny...this is what just looking forward to steroids does for me!
I'm watching a really good movie right now on the sci-fi channel...13 Ghosts! Very creepy and scary! Perfect for a Saturday night alone (except for my cat) in a 2-story house. (you know me, desperate & dateless, and all that shit...lol). Then 'Ghost Voyage' comes on at 8! Hmmmm...my night is planned!
Mouse called me the other night...we were talking about a bunch of stuff, and her dog was bothering the hell out of her! He was just like a little kid, ya know, he would not quit jumping all over her while she was on the phone, she had to put him outside while she was talking! Come to think of it, Tif's new puppy is like that too. When I call her, Lily only leaves her alone when she petting her & playing with her while she's talking to me!
See?? Dog = needy!!
Mouse is really getting sick of the crappy hours & pay she's getting at the nursing home she works at (in the town way north I worked at). She said she likes the job, but the pay is shit, and they do weird stuff with her schedule, as far as having her work the last 3 days of one week, then the first 3 of the next! She took classes for medical billing & coding for at least a year, graduated from that...now, nobody'll hire her cuz she has no experience! I remember that crap right after high school. I mean, I kinda understand both sides of it, but how do you get experience if nobody'll let you try? So she's an aide, and a cook at the nursing home, but...she was asking me "do you remember how dead this town was 25 years ago when you worked here? well, I think it's about a million times worse now!" There's no factories or anything in that town...not even a mall or anything, where you can always find a job! But one of the other 3 towns up there is booming, and it's only 15/20 miles away. She doesn't want to drive though..she's just not a driving freak like I always have been. But she does want to go find a factory job soon...she worked in a factory job right after she had her daughter, and she said it worked for her...why did she even try to do this office/nursing home thing...there's no money there compared to an hourly factory job (that's my opinion). But, yeah, all the advertisements say it's gonna be the next big thing.
Mouse said something about her cats the other day too...she has 5 or 6 + JJ the dog! And the cats are mostly outside cats, but they each have a litterbox in the basement! You can definitely tell she's a total animal lover! Oh damn, it's all I can force myself to do to clean Truman's box every day or two!!

Friday...I get iv steroids m,t,w next week!! WOOOO!!

That's one of the Kitlers I've found, while I was bored & web surfing.
And hasn't EVERYBODY felt like they've been driving on this road a LOT??
That's NOT my hand, I just thought it was an 'interesting' picture...interesting as in 'I almost threw up a little'.

I took everyone's advice, and I have a call in to my dr now, waiting for her to call back & tell me whether I should go get a blood test cuz I'm sleeping so much & I'm so cold. Personally, I think it's the time of year & the stuff going on this time of year...but, I'm not a dr.
Just in case it comes across that Boo & I only laugh, we actually did have one serious conversation, about her theory that, as a civilization, we've invented all kinds of things, especially lately, that are supposed to "save time for you & your family". You know, computers, cell phones, a bajillion cable channels, X-Box, etc. So why all of a sudden, do kids have the attention span of a gnat, and, if you think of it, families are more 'split apart' and doing different things with 'other people', not their families.
Boo & her husband & 4 kids have a house out in the country, & she cans everything all summer, the kids are all in 4-H, they don't have cable, and they all read all the time!! Her 15 yr old son's iq is 2 points higher than mine, for God's sake!! And all 4 kids have college funds, & they all KNOW they're going! I dunno...there's just so many different ways to live, & so many different things to do in life, don't you hear about a life like that & it sounds 'bucolic', and you wonder "why did she do that and I did this?" I know it's not all like it looks from the outside, she worked her way through all her college after she was married by babysitting all day & going to school at night, & there's no big college loan to have to pay off! And while all this was going on, she had their 4 kids! Gaaaahhhhhh...what energy!!
I also let her have a book last year that was called something like "Too Much Is Not Enough", and it was about that kind of stuff too. It talked about new houses now are usually for a family with 1 or 2 kids, but the house has 4 or 5 bedrooms & the same number of bathrooms! I dunno...it's just stuff to think about. But, for heaven's
sake, THINK before you choose!!

sleeping most of the day, still...

I'm not really sure, but if I was walking down the alley at night, this cat would scare the shit out of me!! It looks like a 'cat zombie'!

This picture is titled, appropriately enough, "Forbidden Love".

Is everybody watching "The Moment Of Truth" show tonight?? I am, for sure...I hope a lot of the liars I know are watching it, too!! I'd love to be playing it, actually!
I was talking to Boo tonight, telling her about the people at my front door at 3 am the other night, then we were laughing about the fact that I said maybe they were there to burglarize the house, but, well, when I opened the door and they saw my walker, my wheelchair...they decided "Nahhh...obviously she isn't rich or anything...if we did anything, we'd have to kill her, or we'd really look bad to everyone if they ever found out that we beat her up!" :-/ Then we REALLY started, when she said maybe I should've opened the door and asked "Are you the angels of death? I've been expecting you!" Man, that probably would've freaked them out, and they'dve been gone immediately!! Damn, I love talking to her, we're obviously the same family (looks, etc), and we finish each others' sentences a lot!! But absolutely nobody in the world can make me laugh like her! I've called her crying so hard I can't breathe or talk or anything...30 seconds later, I was laughing my ass off!! We've tried to figure this out forever...you know how they're always saying 'middle children are the ones who end up with more problems growing up.'?? So, why is it that , uhhh, lemme see...Boo's the middle, & she's so normal & well adjusted (especially for a kindergarten teacher!) person with a husband & 4 kids, I've ever known! The oldest and youngest are VERY different. Then there's my family...I'm the youngest, and I won't hear anything, because you're not gonna say CRAP I haven't been accused of before! Yes, youngest+only girl = spoiled. Then there's the oldest...Psycho, as you may have seen mentioned in here last year. Then there's Bro...he's the midddle in our family, and everyone knows him! He & his wife have also been married forever, like Boo & her husband, Bro & wife also have 4 kids. There's other families I've known where the 'middle child', seems to have their shit way more together than the others! What's up with this??
I called Kroger's grocery store the other day to find out if they had anyone or knew anyone who would deliver groceries in town. The girl I talked to said they used to have a guy who did that, but he went off on his own, he was really nice, did I want his number? OMG, yes, please! Only because I'm so tired and cold lately, I want nothing to do with even taking the bus anywhere, it's all I can do to get in the shower every day, and into a different pair of sweats! I called him, and he is SO nice! He's retired, about 75, and just does this kind of stuff on like a volunteer-type basis...his wife's also like that too, she spends a lot of time sitting with chemo patients that have cancer...I feel blessed to even know good people like this! We talked on the phone for awhile, then he said for me to make a grocery list for him, and he'd come over & meet me & get the list Tuesday around 11 am! So, I did, he came over the next day, we met & talked, he went over the list & kinda verified everything, then I gave him my debit cd (not the PIN #!), and that worked cuz I know some people that work there, they ALL know him, so he could just put it on as a credit! He even called me on his cell twice from there to tell me he was looking at this, but this brand was cheaper...which would I want?? Do you believe how wonderful this guy is?? And he brought it here & in the house, and even helped me put stuff away, then, all he wanted was $10.00! He said if gas was any cheaper, he'd just do it for free! He actually does this for people at retirement homes around town, etc! I would SO do this if I had a driver's license!

Sunday...

None of these pictures need any captions, that's for sure!
I've been awake off and on this weekend...I really think it was my shot that just about did me in Friday night. And that's not a way out there play on words, either. No details here, but...just praying to be 'smited', that's all. But after 15 hours of sleep til 4 pm yesterday, I'm ok.
Then, last night, I was awake off and on, reading, when all of sudden, someone's knocking on the front door!! At 3 am!! I came out and asked who it was, cuz there's always accidents happening at the intersection here. A woman answered some stupid name or something, and I opened the inside door to see if she wanted me to call the cops for something. There were two women standing there, about maybe in their 30's, and one was white, one black...the white lady asked for April, and I just looked at her "Who is April??" She looked at me and said "Doesn't she live here??" I said no...then, get this...she asked me if she could come in and use the bathroom!!!! I said, no, sorry, and they walked down the porch steps. WTF?????????? Gaaahhh...for all I know, they were gonna kill me or something, but decided not to cuz I was using a walker & had my wheelchair in the room! Hmmm...maybe they were sent to smite me! I don't live in a 'ghetto' part of town or anything! Weird!
I was thinking about this neighbohood after that last night, and I thought about stuff that's happened over the last, well, since August 1990 when we bought the house. There were our first neighbors next door that were kinda weird, 3 little girls, a mom and a dad. They changed religions, well, religiously! One month it was Methodist, a couple Catholic, Presbyterian, many others I don't even know. One Halloween, their mom wouldn't even let them stay in the house with the blinds down...she took them out to the car with their eyes covered, practically, and went somewhere! 'Course, that was in the middle of the years we were doing the "Haunted Porch", so, maybe that had something to do with it...it WAS loud then, what with all the screming of the kids, whose moms & dads were standing on the sidewalk, saying..."go ON...we'll be right here!!" Keep in mind, we were 5 adults dressed like monsters and witches, and everything.
What would you have felt like if your parents were pushing you up the steps to that?? Kinda like they were dropping you off at the Hansel & Gretel's witch's house? Or maybe the Wicked Witch of the East?
Or there was one of the first summers we were here, one of the cars coming down the street was speeding (like usual) in the day, and Tif & the little boy across the street were out on the sidewalk talking (they were 7), & all of a sudden he ran across the street to his house, and that car hit him so hard, he flew about 50 feet down to the corner! It was awful, but he ended up being ok, just bumps & bruises, no broken bones! He was the luckiest boy in the world that day!
Or when Tif & the girl next door were friends (8-ish), and they were playing outside & yelling & stuff...I looked out, and they had sticks sticking up from the ground in our 2 yards from here to the corner, and they were all proud of themselves, "Look, Mommy!! We planted trees!!" LMAO!!! (but then, I wasn't the one who mowed the lawn...)
Or the time she was about 14 and her best friend stayed overnight, and they were in the living room looking out the front window (it was about 12 or 1), spying on the people across the street who were on their porch having a party, and getting drunk, and started fighting with each other, throwing lawn chairs at each other. I listened to them (Tif & Tara) laughing like idiots at them, then walked into the living room (the light switch is on the wall right at the door), flipped the switch, and said "Hey guys, what's up out there?? To the people across the street, it probably looked like they were on tv!!!
