history in the making....

Egypt is a hot mess this weekend...I feel awful for the people that live there (82 million of them did you know there were that many?) I hafta wonder, if they get Mubarak out, who comes next? Hard-line Islamists?...errgghh...

Talan had a great first birthday party! And Tiff made his cake, which proves why she had the 6th best decorated cake in Ohio when she was in high school & in culinary arts! I love that girl! Well, yeah, her boy too...

Well, I'm off again, I'm hooked on watching Egypt this weekend...

I just hope we back the right horse this time.

We backed the Shah thirty years ago, and Iranians still hate us for it. He was Not A Nice Man, to say the least.

Hi Libby!
I have been watching the news too, it's pretty dramatic what is happening in Egypt. I did not know that its population is 82 million ppl...wow.

Looks like a fun birthday party! The cake is really really neat!

Girl, thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment :-)

First Tunisia then Egypt. North Africa is in for a shakeup and that's a good thing.

My eyes aren't that good, but is that a proud grandma I see in the background?

Mubarak's opposition is in significant part comprised of new guard factions of the Muslim Brotherhood. During WWII, the MB were allies of the Nazis/Axis and many believe that their ties to fascism (specifically Eurofacism) have remained strong over the years. We will really have to see how this plays out.

i WISH i looked as young as the proud & happy tiff-momma you see behind talan...but, if you look at the set of their mouths/chins, you can see the family in that, can't you??

I hope the shake-up in Egypt takes them to good things...and the USA does the right thing.

I'd like to see Mugabe's regime fall next.

Talon's birthday cake is soooooo cute!!! =)
