..if it weren't for bad luck...

Well, so, Monday & Tuesday were my checkups with my ms dr (Monday) for surgery clearance, & my gp for the same thing Tuesday. Mon was fine...Tues my gp's assistant was giving me an ekg on my heart...she took the paper that printed out & went to the next room to show Dr A...he came hurrying back in and asked if I'd had any chest pain, and I said no...he asked if I was sure (no, I was lying...&*sarcasm*), then said "You've had a heart attack in the past, it looks like." Dear God, what else???
That brought me to the hospital yesterday for an *all day* resting stress test. Logically, now that I think about it...you go to the dr just for a once-over, and he tells you 'You've had a heart attack.', nope, no stress here...c'mon!
All of this stems from the one time Dr P did an mri on my c-spine too, just to check & make sure I had no ms scars on my spine...then she finds a node on my thyroid...then I get told I need a needle biopsy on it...it's 'indeterminate', so I need surgery...b4 surgery, I need checked...they find something else, & think I've had a frikkin heart attack in the past...just what the hell is up here?? Man! I'm the healthiest sick person I know...or the sickest healthy person.....
I really hate this part of my life, I really do.
I'm done for tonight....

slinks away, muttering... Libby...

My mother's side of the family is from Marion, and I just remembered that there's a family history of thyroid problems. I wonder if there's something in the water?

Sounds a bit familiar, nit the heart attack thing, but the "discovery" of something we never knew we had. I had an Xray of a very bad sprain and they said I had fractured my leg sometime recently. I never knew it. Oh well modern science???

Well, Libby- you survived it...so Congrats :) I'm beginning to think you are as invincible and you are skinny!

I know it was a scary thing to find out, but you are a survivor, and maybe the purpose of discovering this inforamtion will help you with a bigger issue down the road.

I send hugs and love, and I'm saying a couple extra prayers for you. My best to you friend ♥

Stopped in to check on ya.. and YIKES! You deserve a big hug and a pint of chocolate ice cream! hehehe

The thing is that its good that you found out all this because knowledge is power. You will move forward with both and get through this better than ever! =]

I am generally at my doctors way more than my friends are. Not sure why that is since I am pretty healthy... but I think prevention is really important... still I get your comment to Cora.

Anyway hugs to you my friend! Hang in there! xoxoh

I've read about those silent heart attacks. I hope they're mistaken, but maybe not. Still, if you did, it's good they detected it, because now you can do something about it--just so it doesn't happen again.

Neo-con or no, I still think the world's a better place with you in it.

helene-just a pint??? oh well, i'll take it...lol! actually, i guess this is a good reason Bro insists on me getting one of those buttons you wear around your neck for emergencies, since i live alone...(even though 'they're for old people'). i'm glad you go to the dr regularly, i guess it is important, even though i WAS one of those people who never went to the dr from age 20 to 30!

x----me, a neocon?? hahahaha! nope...they're WAY too uptight! i guess i'm like most people in america..in the middle! but thank you so much for the compliment! you are a nice guy!! and i think the same about you...you are one of the smartest guys i "know"! even though i never met you in "meatspace" hahaha!

Aw, hang in there Libby. You are in my prayers. {hugs}

Yeah this happens all the time doctors have been "kind" enough to inform me that I have health problems that I never had a problem with - and unable to find why I have what I went in first for.

I would have thought you have given a few heart attacks than had one. Maybe its because you have such a kind and big heart that you never noticed the attack.

Hahah, I like how it's a no stres stress test. Of course you're going to be stressed! That sucks. I can only imagine you benig all "I think I would've KNOWN I had a heart attack." Doctors...grumble grumble grumble.

I don't know but if you had a heart attack in the past I'd think you'd damn well know about.
