something (kinda) unexpected...

And now Cindy (Casey's mom) gets called to the witness stand and says that it was actually her that had looked up chloroform on their computer in Mar 08, not Casey. Wow. It's so painful to say, but, I can't make myself believe that...but I can't say I'd do anything different in the same situation...hypocritical? Perhaps...a mom will do anything possible to save her daughter's life from the death penalty, I think...

I'm glad I have you to update me on the case. I can see why she would protect her daughter, too. Thanks for keeping me in the loop!

Maybe she looked it up because she suspected something?

A blog friend of mine (now deceased) knew the grand-father. My friend was convinced the mom killed her baby- and that the grandmother would do anything to cover it up. What crushes me is that there are hundreds (thousands?) of kids killed everyday by their parents and it never makes the news. People just don't care about children anymore. It's a symptom of our culture...abortion is fine up to the age of 3yrs old these days- sick. :( All children are precious. Preventing an unwanted pregnancy is not difficult. Sigh.

i agree, cora...i'd think abortions wouldve become rarer now that they have 3D ultrasounds, y'know?

I believe a Mom would do anything, maybe, to help a daughter?? I hope I never know that questions answer

The mom's testimony shocked me...so I googled Chlorophyll (didn't know how to spell it) and Chloroform is also right there (IF you really don't know how to spell it...) so I can see this happening. Remember a verdict is about reasonable doubt, not absolutes.

I think she killed her daughter but I also think it's possible the grandmother googled for chlorophyll. I hope the jury makes a wise decision, not one based on emotion....

What I can't figure out is this: You can't buy chloroform "off the shelves" so...how did she get the chloroform without leaving a trace of some kind? Surely someone would remember her purchasing chloroform.

And why didn't the cadaver dogs check out the grandparents cars too? Everyone is a suspect until ruled out and their cars were not checked out.

Personally I think there is something very ODD about the whole family. The brother being upset because no one told him his sister was pregnant? Pfft....is his jealous or what? Why was he so upset he wouldn't go to the hospital for the birth??? That makes no sense.

There is something strange...about the whole family IMO. I think the whole investigation was botched. I think there's some kind of coverup going on but what it is, beats me.

I would still love and support my kids if they killed someone (yikes) but they have to deal with the consequences of their decisions but I sure as heck wouldn't lie for them.
