are skunks vegetarian??

Everybody knows that even if I'm not writing about cats, I'm thinking about 'em, right??????
That last thing in there is a thing I got off a FB page, called 'Growing up in Marion, Ohio'. It'd be boring for anyone to go read that didn't, but since I did, I love it! I see so many names of people I know, and people in their 80's are writing their memories...and some of the names go on for generations! It's just neat...maybe it's "hick-ish", but I don't care.
I was thinking today about people that think it's wrong to eat meat, or meat products, and I remembered a story that someone told me the other night about something they saw happen while they stood and watched it! A person I know was out in the back yard, which runs up against woods & a cemetery. His kids were with him, and they were just watching the cute teeny little bunny that had just come out from the woods. A couple seconds later, here comes a big fat skunk waddling out of the woods too. It just lumbered over to the baby bunny, stood there for a second, then bent its head down and ate it in two freakin' bites!! Holy God! I've almost been wanting to puke when I think about it too much!
But, that's honestly how the world goes, isn't it? Nature works that way, and has since the beginning of time. I know that there are people that can't eat meat for whatever reason, & that's fine...but, really, don't think that if nobody eats meat, the world will be a better place, and there'd be no more violence!

Are vegetarians skunks? Sometimes.

There have been enough violent vegetarians in history http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler's_vegetarianism.

BTW I saw my neighbor's CAT do that to a baby bunny once. That cuddly critter you have as a pet is a mini-tiger Libby!

I spent a lot of time in Marion when I was little. We moved to Texas when I was 7, but until then my time was pretty evenly split between Marion and Brimfield. I'll have to look up that Facebook page.

I've been vegetarian for years, but I try not to bring it up. For some reason people who eat meat get very defensive around people who don't.

I don't eat meat because I don't like the way it tastes. Gross! Which is funny because my mom is a carnivore, you know the kind of person who orders her steak as rare as they can make it. Bleh. Can I get pasta?

I would be scarred for life if I saw that. Poor bunny!

I don't know much about skunks. I would have guessed that they were herbivores, but apparently not.

Curious, though, you would have thought the bunny would have already left the skunk because of the smell.

I see a lot of "nature" outside my door since I live in the woods. The bunny under the deck is gone.

I eat meat but fully support anyone's right to be a vegetarian since I don't cook. LOL!

Vegetarian stuff (unless it is chunky flavorless tofu)is usually delish. I mean come on, it's true.

I hate for vegetarians to bash my meat eating. I won't drink soy. It isn't normal but I don't say that to their face either. =)

Alex cooked some vegetarian meals for friend of mine a couple of times and yummmmmm....

Tofu is kind of like flour- you're supposed to make other things out of it, not sit down with a big bowl of it and a spoon.

meg!! it must be something to do with detroit! when dad took us all up there, we'd go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant with mr gollnick & his friends...they'd be all "manly" when they ordered steaks, "just walk it thru a warm kitchen"...(with great guffaws!)...meanwhile, Mom & i were the "well done, please"!

x-id've guessed they ate only vegetation, too! and, maybe this was kinda like pushing the baby bird out of the nest...trial by 'teeth'

Skunks can actually make great pets and can be litter trained like cats, but now that we have baby bunnies in the house, I'm not so sure I'd want a skunk around :)
A friend of ours had a pet skunk as a child and he never, ever, not once, sprayed anyone. Now days you can have the stink gland removed. (wouldn't that be an awful job??? ewwww)

cora...i dont think i'd do it even if their "fart glands" were removed, you know?

Libby, this is the thing, some of these clowns came up with "studies" that say violence is higher in towns that have meatpacking plants.

I am shocked about the skunk eating the rabbit as I thought they didn't eat rabbis. It's kind of shocking. But this is nature and the cycle of life. So it goes as you say.
