Sunday...

First...the t-shirt of the day...well, the picture and the link...

Next...I'm hearing on the news today that much of the violence in Iraq is funded by illegal stuff. Naw!! Say it isn't so!! Good Lord! Is anybody in the world seriously surprised by this?? This isn't 'news'...it's 'olds'!
Actually, that kinda made me wonder about some other shit. It's been said that the reason the 'Muslim extremists' hate us & want to kill us is because they have so much less than we do, as far as opportunities. Hmmm...maybe, just maybe, when you spend most of your country's wealth on bombs, bioterror weapons, and suicide belts, that tends to limit your ability to build business! Ever think of that? We're not holding anybody down...maybe they're holding themselves down.
Okay...that rant was a long time coming, but I feel ever so much better now...[snark!].
I called Mouse today, and Kev asked, out of the middle of nowhere, "Isn't she the one who was so hot after Stephen Pearcy?" (the lead singer of Ratt). When I told her he said that, we just started dying laughing! Then Kev said..."Well...he didn't age well...". Mouse agreed with that immediately. I guess she saw him on tv or something, and, well...let's just say her days of writing 'I'm cheese...eat me' on her underwear & throwing it on stage for him are over....with a capital O!
Mouse is the best artist I EVER saw...she used to do pencil drawing & paintings all the time, just for fun...it wasn't something she ever had to work at, it just happened easily! And I still remember the ones I liked best were a wolf painting, and a pencil drawing of Stephen Pearcy's face and head, that almost looked like a photograph, it was so clear & detailed! She finally did get a job at a doctor's office, but, I can see that it's gonna wear her out like crazy, cuz the dr she works for is a family doctor who works Monday through Saturday, full days...no half days on Wed & Sat, like most drs! But she'll get thru it, I have faith in her. She's just going to have to stick with it, just so she can get the "experience"! I just wish she could get into illustrating or something. (yeah...like SHE doesn't wish that too!).
Well...I'm off...

blahhh....

Okay, here I go again with the 'oldies challenge'! By the way, first I want to put a link to one of the funniest shirts I ever saw! Here it is...
music I'm listening to now...
1. Sex and Candy
2. Electric Gypsy
3. Dragula
4. See You On The Other Side
5. Angel In Blue
6. Down On Me
7. I'm Too Sexy
8. Do You Remember When?
...that's enuff of a challenge for the day before Thanksgiving.
I'm starting to pick myself back up and pull my head outta my ass again...I MISS my attitude!! That's what makes me..me!
So...speaking of attitude and being 'out there' and unafraid...
Tif's started going in to the local community radio station and being one of their morning people with the two guys there. She's only going to do it on Tuesday mornings, even though they wanted her every weekday. But she's smart about that..it's from 6 to 9 am...which, if ya do it once a week, is just something fun to do...too much would be overkill!

Gary Bets On Michigan...Pays With His Hair The day before "The Game", Gary made a prediction that Michigan would beat Ohio State. Sean didn't let it go, making a bet with him that who ever lost would color their hair the opposing teams color.

This is just one of the services offered in the morning... ;-D

sigh...

Some days it's not even worth it to chew through the restraints...

Has anyone but me ever woke up sobbing, and wishing you never had to wake up again? Yeah...thought so...

I have to write down this dream I had, after I had woken up like that at 5 am Sunday morning. And this is gonna be a post to help me figure out some shit, it's not gonna be a normal, smartass post, I just need to write it out to maybe make some sense outta it...so, read it or not...hopefully, I'll get back to normal soon...

After I woke up like that, I think I went out and sat in the living room for awhile. Then I went back to bed and went back to sleep for a few hours. And had this dream...
Kim and I were out for some reason, at a car dealership, and I was driving...in my red Yugo, for God's sake! We got out of the car, and were walking around looking at other cars. I had my wheelchair, and wasn't sitting in it, I was walking behind it for balance. I remember we went in the dealership to go pee, but decided not to, because the restrooms stunk, from about 10 feet away! We went back outside, and walked around some more...I wasn't pushing my w/c (hate to type that whole word!) anymore, I had left it inside, and was walking just fine then. The dealership was in a hilly area, and we were walking up and down the hills to see all the cars. Then we went back to the building, cuz it was starting to get colder and rainy. We were standing in a line inside to talk to some lady behind a desk for some reason, and another lady came up from behind the line and started spraying something out of a bottle (like a Windex bottle) on everyone in the line. Everyone turned around to see what the hell she was doing, and she explained that she had to do this, her boss made her, it was anti-terrorist spray! Now that was funny, the whole line was dying laughing at her!
After the 'hilarity' ended, it stopped raining outside, and got sunny. Kim and I decided to leave, and went outside to my car...but it was locked. We checked our pockets for the keys, looked everywhere we'd been for them, but...nothin'! So I went back in, and asked the person behind the desk if they had a Yugo key I could use just to get in & start my car, I'd give it right back. So they gave me a key that was attached to a great big metal rod, (so nobody could steal those keys to those valuable cars, I s'pose...). So, I used the key at the end to open the door. That got us in, and for some reason, I sat down in the passenger seat. I guess cuz I had already sat in the driver's seat, and realized that I didn't have an ignition key! So I was digging through all the glove compartment, on the floors, on top of the thing under the windshield, which had a bunch of papers and general junk on it (yes, I'm a natural slob!). Finally, I found the ignition key under all the papers. It was like, "Voila!! I can get outta here!" And that's all I remember before waking up.

So I thought about it all day and night yesterday. The thing I'm kinda getting out of it is, well, today is 12 years to the day that I was diagnosed with ms, and, well, I'm glad nobody's ever here (they're at work) to hear me all day. Another thing I get is, it was Sunday morning, maybe God is trying to tell me something. And the biggest thing I get from this is...somehow, somewhere, I need to find my 'key' to get out of this place I'm in...sound correct?

music & batteries....

Hey everybody....I wanna play a game, ok? Or if ya don't wanna, well, just don't..up to you...
I'll put the names of 10 songs I listen to a lot down, and you tell me who did 'em.
1. Living After Midnight
2. Unskinny Bop
3. Silent Lucidity
4. Devil Without A Cause
5. Jeremy
6. I Don't Care Anymore
7. Is There Anybody Out There?
8. A Room With A View
9. Love Song
10. If She Woulda Been Faithful

Batteries...GRRRRR!! Those things are SUCH a pain-in-the-ass to have to try to change! This is really frickin' stupid, but, a few months ago I was trying to change the channel on the tv with the remote, and it wouldn''t change! I'm all pissed and everything, and pushing the buttons harder, changing the angle to the tv, everything, shakin' it...two AA batteries fell out of the back!! How ashamed was I?? Then there's stuff you just forget is gonna need more batteries eventually, but, well, you say, "Okay, I'll get them next time." Cuz you really don't need batteries for it, but it's better. And once you've started using it, you remember you need batteries in it, but, by then it's, like, all wet & sticky...and who knows? You might get electrocuted or something if you changed them then!! This is what I'm talking about, BTW...

no name...but, 11/15/06

Hey, everybody! I have a lot of questions today, I'd just like some opinions? As far as my memory goes, I honestly never remember a year as bad as 2006! Has anybody else noticed this? A lot of the blogs I read talk about how bad things are for them, trouble with jobs, trouble with relationships, and if it's not them personally, it's somebody they're close to. And it's not only on the blogs, it's people in 'real life', too! Of course, maybe my vision of the whole thing is kinda jaded, but....I don't think that's all of it!
Anyway, here's something to get grossed out at...or laugh at if you're sick like me.
Has anybody ever taken notice of, not birth order, but the day of the week you were born on?

Monday's child is fair of face,Tuesday's child is full of grace,Wednesday's child is full of woe,Thursday's child has far to go.Friday's child is loving and giving,Saturday's child works hard for a living,But the child born on the Sabbath Day,Is fair and wise and good and gay.

That really seems to fit Tif and me, at least. I was born on a Thursday morning (8:35 am!). I remember when I was little and read Mother Goose, I asked Mom why it said I had far to go. She said, that doesn't mean you're behind everyone else, or anything, I think it refers to the fact that you'll do a lot of traveling. And Tif was born on a Sunday (11:35 am)...and she IS fair & wise & good & gay. No, not that kind of gay!! C'mon!! And I've traveled more than most people I know...when I was little, our vacations were always in the car for a couple weeks, to most of the US, like I do remember Mount Rushmore, Philadelphia, Plymouth Rock, Wyoming, Florida, Texas, London twice....we just went! Then when I got jobs, I usually took jobs that were out of town, at least 1/2 hr, most of them were an hour's drive every morning! Ahhhhh...those were the days....
Okay...I honestly do think that the days of 'Kim & Libby' are truly over. I have purposely not tried to call her since the week before Halloween, because she truly did say a couple things that I'd class as unforgivable, no matter who the fuck said 'em! The first thing she did was say that a person very close to me was 'amoral'! I called her on that right then, asked her when did God ask her to sit beside Him in judgement? She apologized for that one, but it was one of those "hollow apologies", know what I mean? Sure you do, we've all gotten them, and sometimes given them. Then when we came back from Halloween shopping, the week before Halloween, she said something about something I'd been talking about I guess over the last few weeks, and she actually fuckin' said "I hope that's over. Tell you the truth, I'm getting sick of hearing about it!". OMG!! I said nothing at the time, just kinda laughed, but...she's supposed to be my best friend! So...that's it. I've got a lot more friends than her, and, well, at this point, who needs that kind of stress? And I really hate to tie this to her religion...but, well, that's the only thing that's been different for her lately. She goes to church every Sunday morning, which is a good thing (?). And she taught vacation bible school over the summer...now she also leads a Bible study class once a week. Isn't religion supposed to make you a better person? All this has done is reinforce my distrust in 'organized religion'. I'm not against religion for any reason, except that this type of stuff happens a lot, in my experience. But, I have another friend I used to work with at GTE, who belongs to that religion where women wear their hair up, and only wear dresses. She's come over a lot lately, and once when we were talking and she was getting ready to leave, she asked 'Can we pray?' and sat down again and held my hand and said a great prayer, while I was sitting there "snif, snif, honk *blowing nose*" OMG! That made me feel SO much better! Then in my head, I have to compare that with "that's amoral!" Who would you feel more safe around?

Monday!!

I'd get this tattoo....but I'm scared of needles (this, from a person who gets one shot a week for ms!).

Today is Mom's 84th birthday! I called her at 8am to say happy birthday, and she said thanks, and she'll call me back later...Psycho was coming over to take her to the license place to do some stuff. :-\ Oh well...they like each other, so...
Bro & his wife are in Arizona for a vacation. They bought a place while they were there, so I have a feeling I know where Tif's gonna go on vacation soon! And I might be with her! Or, I dunno, maybe I'll 'babysit' their house they live in here! It's huge, and they have a whirlpool tub room! It's way out in the country, with a newly installed alarm system.
Oh, that reminds me of something that happened at Bro & his wife's other house...Tif & I were out there (their old house was big & scary! 3 stories, wood, close to a bunch of cornfields...kinda made you think of 'Children Of The Corn'!). Anyway...Tif was about 3 or 4 & playing with her cousins (Bro & wife had 2 kids at the time)...and they were playing on the stairs, running up & down, and all of a sudden, we heard the door to the stairs slam, and I hear Tif start screaming bloody murder! I almost had a heart attack, and we all jumped up & ran around the corner to see what was going on, and the oldest daughter was standing on this side of the door, holding it shut, and the light in the stairway was off! That daughter was C, my favorite niece, and she was about 5! Anyway, I went and picked her up and opened the door, and Tif was scared to death cuz C had locked her in the stairway with the one toy she was more scared of than anything...a Teddy Ruxpin doll! Remember him? She got a Cricket doll a few years later & she was fine with that...I guess it was the bear who talked & moved his lips that was scary!

Friday finally!

HAHA!! The grocery one would be me!! Hopefully, I'm not a 'nagging bitch', though!

Okay...speaking of the grocery one...it got me thinking all about when I worked at the store up north, and hung out with 'Chester', the delivery woman, that golfs, & stuff.

Chester & I used to go to a big Mexican restaurant down the road from the store every Tuesday night for dinner after I got off work, then I'd head out to the local bar to meet my 'work friends' to drink...Chester didn't usually go, cuz she had to get up to work at around 3 or 4 am every day. So, a lot of evenings after we went to the restaurant, we'd go back to the store & stand out in the parking lot talking, usually about the customers I had that day. A lot of them were in a few times a week, so most of 'em were familiar-looking. One time, we were standing up by the sidewalk next to the street (duhh, isn't that where most of 'em are?). The parking lot was on a hill, and it sloped down away from the street, toward a lake with a bunch of cottonwood trees around it. There were a bunch of parking spaces down that way, at the bottom of the 'slope', and a lot of people parked down that way, so they wouldn't be close to any other cars. I don't know why they would give a shit, though, cuz a lot of them were 'beaters'!

So, we saw a big fat lady that used to come to the store a lot come out with her cart and head to her car with it. After she loaded the bags into her car, she turned around and looked, but nobody was around (except us!). Looked toward the front doors of the store, decided it was too far to walk to take the cart back, so she turned it around and shoved it hard down the hill toward the cars down there! It hit one 'beater' car (thankfully, it already had so many dents in it, that the ones the cart made didn't even show!)...after the first 'bang', it kinda scooted its way along the side, ya know, "scub, scub, scub, scub..."! We were laughing our asses off, and 'Chester' yelled to the woman, "That wasn't a real good delivery on the push! I only give it a 6...you didn't point your toes!!" Damn, those were the days...you didn't need to be drunk to have fun & laugh like crazy!!

another boring day....

I 'double-dog dare ya' not to laugh at this!

I got this in email from Mouse the other night and laughed so hard my stomach hurt! She also sent me a little question thingy that she sent to a few friends, you've seen these things, a getting to know your friends again. So I did it, and sent it to some of my old friends, and they sent it back. That was really neat, cuz one of the people I sent it to was another friend I had when I worked up in that town, another was my old best friend, y'know, people that I had hung around with the whole time I worked up north. And they all answered it, and sent it back, which was really cool, to hear from everyone! And they all remembered Mouse, too. Of course, who wouldn't remember her? She was the prettiest girl I ever knew! And just as nuts as I was, too. She's the one that when she applied for a job at the store I worked at, told me that when I walked past, she thought 'skinny blond bitch!' But then we got to be really great friends after she got hired! She actually drank more beer than me!! (lol)

Anyway, another person I got it back from was the woman who had been a sales rep that came to the store a few times a week, and we were friends from the first time we met, because we were both the biggest smartasses in the whole northern Ohio area!! So we've been writing...I got a letter back that talked about how she just got back from England (she's never been married)! She was on a chat room a few years ago, and met these two older ladies that are her 'golfing & opera' buddies, they've talked forever, and she just got back from her second trip over there! She said she really wants to get transferred over there, she LOVES England! And the company she's always worked for has a division there...but I don't look for that to happen for awhile, I think her family here would miss her too much. She's kinda the 'glue' for the whole family! She's a good golfer, has always been crazy about doing that. She actually used to go golfing with one of the guys I went out with(briefly) while I worked up there...after I broke up with him! Come to think of it...for some reason, that ALWAYS happened to me there! Mouse ended up dating the guy I had totally been in love with when we were dating up there...hmmmmm. Naw, that was okay...we used to 'compare notes' about him all the time! Gawd...thinking back on it, up at that store, everybody was 'doing' everybody! Jeez...

Okay...this is all a bunch of 'random' shit!

Monday morning, Tif & I were sitting here watching Dr Phil (that's our mother/daughter thing on days she works late), he had someone on there that we both wanted to hold him down & cut his nuts off & feed them to him! But anyway...she said, during a political commercial, 'I can't wait till after we go vote tomorrow! I actually can't wait to see regular commercials!' Oh Lord...she's only 23...she's got a really long way to go, putting up with this! And I can just imagine how much worse it's gonna get in the future!

Today I was half-asleep and the tv was on, and a commercial came on for a place to go for nurses' training...I just caught the very end of it where they said they would train you to be a licensed practical nurse...it sounded, to my 'half-asleep' brain, like they said "a licensed crack-selling nurse"! Now, that woke me up!!

sunday...football for me, nascar for kev

heheheh...super bowel...

And it's hard to believe, but at one time, I bet every single one of us could fit where that baby is!

Well, here's a few little updates on people

Christine (100 reasons...), is doing well, John finally moved out, and she is putting her creative energy into her book (YAY, Chris!!). She said to tell everybody HI, and she'll get back with us all for a shameless plug for her book! As an afterthought...John got fired from his last job for telling his boss "suck my m******* d*****!!" As Christine said...'who'da thunk he'd get fired for that?'

My mom is still at home & driving, and everything, going out to the hospital for chemo once every week or two. And she looks great. They told her it's a low dose of chemo, and she won't get sick from it, but she did start to lose her hair, and she went to a wig store in Columbus & got one, and it looks great! When I talked to her Thursday, she said she feels better than she has in forever! That is cool! But, once again. Psycho told her when he was over there for dinner (as is his wont), the other night that usually when people are getting ready to die, that's how they feel. WTF??? This is our mom!! I wouldn't say that shit to my worst enemy!! I can hardly wait for Bro to get home from AZ, cuz I think he'll want a talk with him about that shit!! I would, but he scares the shit outta me!

Okay, well I'm not doing much else, except reading some of my older books I had upstairs...right now I'm on "From A Buick 8", by Stephen King.. Then I have a whole pile to go, like "Bias", one about terrorism, phew.......nice to read before I fall asleep, huh? Nahh, they never bother me.

Rabbit, rabbit!!

Hmmmm....me? (the one with the gun).
Well, the trick-or-treating last night was a great success! And I actually had enough mini candybars for all! How many? Well...I sent Tif out to get the stuff, and she went to Gordon's Food Services first, cuz she'd seen a great big display of big bags of candy in there a couple days before that. She gets in there, and there was only one bag left?!! This was Friday! So, she went over to WalMart & got about 6 more bags, & said they had nothing but the mini chocolate bars left, but she got almost the last of them! That's okay, but I always like to give all kinds of stuff, anything with sugar (evil snicker, quietly).
So Tif was babysitting for her friend's 3 year old son, and she was dressed up like a ladybug, she had made the wings out of cardboard & she had colored them with markers, and tied them to her back, and she had the little boing-y antennas around her head and stuff...how cool! She will be a great mom..someday...in the far off future....
The little boy had a Superman outfit on, and he's great! He's just a nice kid, not a wild, running-around kinda kid, just...neat. Tif brought him back here, after they had gone about 3 blocks to empty out some of his candy cuz his bag or whatever got too heavy. They went back out with Jenga (who also had a ladybug costume on!), went about a block and got more candy, then he tugged her hand and said 'Tiffany, I don't want any more candy, can we go home?'
So they came home and sat out on the porch with me, and the little 3 year old sat beside me in another chair, and helped me hand out candy.Too cute!! Every time someone walked up & said 'Trick or treat' and held their bag out, he would grab a candy bar and put it in their bag!! When we started getting really low on candy bars, Tif asked him if he would give some of his candy out, and he said "okay!" So, he was nice...went through his stuff, and gave out stuff he didn't like??!!
But we made it with candy the whole way through, about 250 kids, from what I can tell! From 5:30- 7:30! I actually love this town, and the way they deal with trick or treat...we don't have to have it at, like, 3 or 4 pm, so it is a little dark!! And it's always on the 31st, except when that falls on a Sunday, then they have it on Saturday!
Also, my old best friend Joe brought his 2 kids over. That was really cool...I haven't actually seen him for years! The kids came up on the porch first & got candy, and I didn't even recognize them...then I hear "You rag!"...then I turned and looked (cuz I knew where that name came from! We ALWAYS called each other rags when we hung out!), and Joe was standing down at the end of the porch! I said "I didn't even recognize your kids!" He laughed and said, "Ummm...it's Halloween...you're not SPOZED to...Rag!" Hahaha!
I feel bad that I didn't have my camera out there to take pictures! I did do that one year, and it was GREAT!! But I went out there and sat down, and got my candy, and it truly would've been a big pain in the ass to try to get back in to get it

wow, another weekend...(and another few loads of laundry...)

Okay...that's, like, my sentiments on my t-shirt...and that's the host of the Halloween party last weekend. Now, to me, he had the scariest costume!! I HATE HATE HATE the Burger King commercials with him!! Especially the one where he was looking in someone's window in the morning! I'd almost rather have a scary clown looking in my window, for heaven's sake!! Speaking of which..."It" was on again Saturday...the book scared the crap outta me when I read it, and the movie is almost as good as the book! The only one better is "The Stand"! Actually, Tif's always hated clowns...I do not know why...and no, I didn't scare her with one when she was a baby, or anything! However, she did go see "It" with her friends when she was younger, came home and told me how she hated it...so I did what every mom thinks she should do...her next birthday, I bought the movie (VCR, that's how long ago!), and wrapped it up as one of her presents. (lol!). She still loves me, though, I've regained her trust somehow...?
I must've had one helluva dream last night! I woke up at 5 am, and was really pissed...no, it was WAY more than that! I'd have to say...I was full of rage! I mean the kind you feel in the middle of your chest, burning you up! I was up sitting in the living room until about 7, trying to quit being mad at something, I couldn't even remember what it was! Then I went back to bed, and when I woke up this afternoon, I was okay. I'm still trying to remember why I felt like that, though. I always have a lot of dreams in any night, and I do remember one I had last night where my ms came and went...you know, sometimes I could walk and climb over stuff just fine, the next minute I couldn't...hmmmm...
My favorite niece called me Friday night, it was her birthday...which I had known, but couldn't get ahold of her...she's now...29!! She's Bro's oldest daughter, and he's always been a great dad! With 4 kids, he damn well better be!! She's the one that looks almost more like me than Tif does! She was at a sports bar watching the OSU/Minnesota game (on the way to a nat'l championship again, I hope!), and Tif & Zak were there too! C was telling me that she had always thought of me as her big sister, which was really flattering (I was 12 & in 6th grade when she was born), but then I thought that I must've not been a good example, but a horrible warning...I dunno....it worked, anyway. She's never been married, pregnant, she graduated college with a master's...she's got her own house...good Lord, I MUST'VE been a horrible warning!! So she told me when she heard that Journey & Def Leppard were having a concert in Columbus, earlier this year, all she could think of was 'oh, if I had the money, Aunt Libby & I would be there!' Anyway, it was neat talking to her...but then Tif told me later that C was half-lit on wine when she talked to me!! (sigh)...

Friday! 10.27.06

Can you imagine applying for a job living here?
"Hi, Mrs. XXXXX. Your application looks as if you'll fit in great at this job! Now, I just need to verify your address once more..."
Or moving there, and calling the phone company to connect your new phone service..."Hi, Mrs. XXXX, I'll be glad to put your order in for your new service! Could you please give me your new address?" (Hit the mute button, loud laugh, snort, snort, snort...)

All right, Libby, that's enough!
No, I was listening to the news this morning at 6 am, and they were talking about how tight the Virginia senate race is, between the Repulican and Barak Obama, and I remember going through Virginia with Mom & Dad when I was little (I'm talking under 10, here), and we went through this one little town, and Mom was like, "Oh, how quaint! Let's stop & eat lunch in this town!" So, of course, we did...we went to a restaurant, and sat at a table, ate lunch, it was great, then when we were getting ready to leave, Mom asked the waitress what town this was again...it was Fancy Gap, Virginia! Okay, okay, before you start thinking I was just little, and forgot the name of the town, fast-forward to like, 1996, when I worked at GTE, I had a woman that called from Virginia to put in a new service order...I was taking her order, then she gave me the address for the new service...don't remember the specific street address, but I'll be damned if it wasn't in Fancy Gap, Virginia!!
I also remember a town or city in Illinois: Metropolis. I've seen it on the news sometimes when they're talking about, oh, I dunno, whatever. But they have a huge statue of Superman in the center of town, and I took an order for service to go in on "Lois Lane"! But no...with my luck, if I ever moved, it's probably going to end up being to "Dork Drive"! (sigh...)
I need to know why we, as Americans, trying to protect ourselves from terrorism, aren't supposed to interrogate mightily?
If we've captured a "high-level" AlQaeda member, why can't we deprive him of sleep, play loud rock music, for God's sake, do the whole 'waterboarding' technique, seeing as how it worked quite well on the one we did it on? Ummmm...lemme see now...they lop off Americans' heads and put the video on the internet for the whole world to see. But WE can't deprive them of fucking SLEEP?? WTF??? We feed the prisoners better than they eat at home (ya know, in the caves and all...), make sure they have a few copies of the Koran...the whole thing just makes me want to puke when I think of Americans feeling sympathy for terrorists! When you give in to a bully, and say, "oh, I'm sorry, I won't stand up for myself again...I'll just submit, as long as you promise not to ever poke me in the eye with that knife again....okay??" Give me one example in the history of the world where that has ever solved a problem...not just pushed it off for other people to deal with in the future?
Okay, I'm done. Didn't mean to give in to the rant. But I'm scared that Nancy Pelosi will be the new speaker of the House. Don't know why I care, it wouldn't do anything to my life...I just hate her like poison, that's all...

mon, after sat nite halloween party

Okay, the costume party's over...and wow! Were there tons of people there! The first couple was my choice for cutest couple, ya know, a fireman (firegirl?) & and an Oompa-loompa...(of course, ya knew I just had to get Dee in the background too!). I don't have a picture of myself in a costume, but, for the most part, I looked like the second picture. Except I had a huge axe and a big top hat, with a skull face mask.
The people that gave the party really only started by inviting family & some friends...which, it was okay, but there ended up being probably a hundred people there! I wanted to drink at the party, but woulda felt stupid drinking a beer from a straw (which I always drink from). So instead, my daughter, brought me a drink and put it in front of me, and I tried it and said it was good...just as she was going back out to dance, I asked, "What is it?". She yelled over her shoulder "It's Sex On The Beach!" Lemme askya...would you not also find it a little 'disturbing' if your daughter gave you that??
My friend up in Michigan emailed me this weekend too, and said she's having a big costume party at her house in a couple weeks too, with 80 - 100 people invited! She wants us to maybe come up too, if we can. She says costumes are optional, but everyone always does dress up! And she always collects donations for cancer....she said every year she always gets about $1500! That is great...I know she gives to the cancer society because her dad died of brain cancer. I met him too, when she lived here, and she's right, he AND her mom were great!
One of the funniest things I remember from when she & her first husband lived here was....they were taking a vacation to London for a month with their baby son (the one that carried me up the steps from their dock in Michigan a few years ago). I was 'babysitting' their huge German Shepherd, Gandalf, for the month they'd be gone. Her husband said "Should we pay her now or when we get home?" I remember looking at him and saying "NOW!! Will you even HAVE any money when you get home?" They both laughed...then paid me right then...
Tif dragged a guy over to us at the party, and yelled "Mom! This is ********** ******!" I shook his hand, & tried to remember him...Tif must've seen that, cuz she announced "I KNOW you remember him from when I was in first grade...he was the one that stuck crayons up his nose....NOW do you remember??"

wednesday? i think...

Yup...I guess I could work in this office...but only if it also has a little refrigerator & a microwave.......in arm's reach, of course

Okay...Kim came over & picked me up with my wheelchair to go out to the mall (which has almost NO stores anymore...the rent is way too high! and that's not the popular end of town anymore for retail!)...but a cool Halloween store moved in to the old place that Old Navy store used to be...obviously, this Halloween store is HUGE!! They had a lot of neat stuff. But Kim had seen something in Columbus once that would've been perfect for me! It's a real-looking brain in a grocer's meat package (like hamburger comes in!). So, she said if we could've found something like that, I could just carry it on my lap, rolling around, and she said we could make a big sign for each side of my chair that said "Meals On Wheels"! LOLOLOLOL @Kim!! She's good with this stuff!

Hey, there's stuff on the news about kids taking too many anti-psychotic drugs. Huh...ask anyone, and they'll tell you I should be...

I'm glad the party's this weekend, so I'll be here to pass out candy to all the kids on the 31st! I'll just have to make real sure I buy enough candy! Last year I ran out before it was over! Cuz we usually get about 200 kids...this whole block is crazy about Halloween! Lots of decorations are already up!!

tuesday 10/17

WooHoo!! I finally got my pictures up today!! Blogger wouldn't let me yesterday, because, I did, honest to God, try to post!! Really!!

And tomorrow Kim & I are going out to the mall to the Halloween store so I can figure out what I wanna be...I saw some good stuff on buycostumes.com ,but I'd rather go somewhere & get it...remember...I AM the Halloween freak! And we have a great big party to go to this Saturday night...(and I plan on drinking a lot, cuz I don't have to drive...hell, I don't even hafta try to walk! See? I guess there's a good side to be found on everything...)

I'm totally hooked on an old Stephen King book I just dug out from the back of the bookshelf the other day..."Hearts In Atlantis". It has about 4 stories written from the '60's perspective, and it's really good! I read it when I got it for Christmas a few years ago, then I don't think I ever read it again, and I don't know why!! Cuz I would swear that I've read every Stephen King book I have (all of 'em!) about 4 or 5 times...huh....go figure...

Does anyone but me watch 'The Bachelor'? probly not, but it's a nice mindless thing to watch after 'Wife Swap'!! (heheheh...inside joke here...)

So I need to ask...does anyone play the card game "Hearts"? I found it on msn games, and so far, it seems really hard to pick up on, but if anybody says it's worth it, well, I'll give it another shot...........

Okay...running out of stuff to say...

monday, again...

I have a stupid, stupid question...why exactly would you take prescription sleeping pills...? Maybe because you want to sleep, right? Uh-Huhhh...So, why does the manufacturer have to say...'side effect may be drowsiness'. WTF!???! I HOPE so!!
Yeah...see what the hell I do every morning when I'm sitting here watching tv? I nitpick, that's what I do! ...at least I'm the only one here to hear it!
After hearing all the news this weekend, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a nuke going off somewhere in my lifetime...do you agree? I'm pretty pessimistic on that one...knowing that, I've been doing a lot of reading up on it all my life. So, after reading all the stuff about it, going to the Chernobyl website, etc., I've thought a lot about it, and decided that if I'm gonna be physically affected by it, I would much rather be at the ground zero where it hits instead of a few miles away. Because, if you're a little away, well, first of all...there won't be many doctors left to take care of people, will there? And, the symptoms will be horrible if you do live...there will be radiation sickness, tumors. Symptoms of radiation sickness include loss of hair, loss of appetite, paleness, weakness, diarrhea. Not to mention the third-degree burns you'll get if you're within about 15 to 20 miles. Damn! I'm so fucking depressing, huh? So cheerful, bouncy, happy, carefree...(hahaha!)...
Depend on me for happy stuff, willya? I'll teach you!
Okay....how 'bout this....Tuesday at 7:46 am, America will get its 300 millionth person! Whether it's born here, or walks over the border as an illegal alien... sorry...(d'oh!) see how I am??

thurs, oct 12...

This smiley face is kinda how I feel right now...have you ever felt like this? Yeah, everybody has...

Uncompromising...that's okay to hear from someone you owe money to, and want to pay less than you owe...not very good to hear in any other context, though, now is it...ok...I'm stopping there...
Dr Phil had a really cool show on this morning. Usually any kind of 'talk show' thingy is usually bashing the kids and how bad they are, right? Well, this one he had the parents on first, and they were talking about how bad their twin 17-year-old boys were mad, slamming shit around, yelling at them...so they 'emancipated' one of the boys...not BOTH...but just one!! They said that one was the worst, but when one starts, the other joins in. Holy shit!! Dr Phil said the same thing I was thinking...You can give kids AWAY?? But the court wouldn't let them. So they went to Dr Phil for help?? Well, he showed some videos of their home life, and then he said the same thing I was thinking..."They've learned what they've lived! You two do that all the time too!!" Good for him!
Sorry...I don't have anything funny to write about today...

tuesday, oct 10...

I guess I've just had a big fuckin' problem with my attitude lately...sometimes blogging just seems like it's more trouble than it's worth. My life is still a clusterfuck, and I don't know what to do with it. Or, in Kev's way with words, 'looks like a monkey fuckin' a football'. Ignoring it doesn't seem to work anymore...
Oh well, we did go to a big birthday/Halloween party Saturday night, and that was fun. Dee Snyder (Twisted Sister) was there, too. Well, no, not really, but he sure as hell looked like him (only better!). There were about 30-50 people there, most of us dressed up (I was a snowboard accident victim, had my leg all bandaged up, in my wheelchair, with Zack's snowboard on the back). And the guy in the Dee Snyder costume won the sexiest costume! Not surprising...the bride in the background of the picture won the best costume...she had a clock she made hanging around her neck that said 'biological clock'. Funny, but you kinda had to know her & the groom (who was a really ugly zombie, with a green rotted face in a tux!).
Okay, and thanks to Cora for directing me to the article on msn about how you should NOT use preparation H on your face! I guess because they said it's a medicine, not a cosmetic!!
Another thing about hemmorroids in a commercial I heard yesterday, and apologies go out to anyone with this problem. I laughed my ass off (how appropiate...). It said that 80% of Americans suffer from hemmorroids. And all I could think was "and the other 20% enjoy them..." Oh, quit it! I take laughs where I can find them.
I'm sick of hearing about the senator who had im sex with a page. Yes, it's so sick I wanna puke...and it's right that he stepped down...and, no, I'm not saying that the republicans are always right, and democrats are all wrong. I'm getting a little sick of politics right now cuz everything's about what the other party did wrong. But, lemme throw this in...democrats are so big on saying how bad this is, and how an elected official should never do that...have they forgotten what Bill Clinton did?? The big difference if that Monica Lewinsky was female. But she was still 'a young girl', not a young man. Huh. Go figure. And don't bash me for my opinion...if ya can't say something nice, don't say anything. I've got enough shit on my plate right now!
Damn, I guess only one chocolate cream-filled doughnut & one Coke wasn't enough, my attitude's still here. Maybe I need more caffeine...yeah, that's it.
Oh, I got the nicest card & stuff in the mail last week from a friend, well, I started babysitting for her baby boy right after he was born, when I was in 9th grade. And she's always been the person I wanted to be. But she and her husband moved to Michigan not long after she had her daughter 5 years later, and we lost touch...but I knew the town they moved to, and that her mom lived in, but, well, I got married, graduated, had Tif, and life got busy, ya know how it goes. Then one day, a few years ago, I decided to see if I could find her, and called info for the town they'd been in. There was no listing for her, but there was one in her maiden name, with an odd first initial, and I said "Hey! Give me that!" And it was her mom, who remembered me, and then she said my friend was there visiting, hold on, and gave her the phone! Wow! Lots of laughing, crying, and everything else! She was thru all kinda shit too, divorced, had gone to college again, after quitting law school when she was here, was then in a good job, etc, kids were great, yadayadayada...Now we email all the time, talk on the phone, Tif and I went up there and stayed with her & her now-husband for a weekend, she had a dinner party, and I got to see everyone in her family again, & meet her friends, she even told everyone at dinner that I was probly the reason she was still here, cuz when I was in 9th grade & her life was shitty, we were out walking her dog one night, and I told her I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. And she still remembered that!!
So, her house is right on a lake up there, and they have a boat on it, a jet-ski, and everything, and we went out on the boat one evening (everyone, after dinner). There were stairs down to their dock from their back door, and I did good going down them (and, no, I didn't fall down them!). but getting back up was tuff...all of a sudden, the son that I babysat for for the first 5 years of his life, came up behind me and scooped me up, and carried me up them! I told him to put me down, I felt stupid with him carrying me! He laughed and said, "You carried me a lot when I was little, I'm just returning the favor!". Wow..I said, yeah, but you usually had a poopy diaper...I don't!!
My friend was 27 when she had him, and I was, what, 14 or 15. And I think her son was about 25 when we went up there and Tif was 19...I told her that's the guy you should go after! She said no, he's old, and he's got dark hair (she was hooked on blonds then...not now, Zak's got dark hair & eyebrows too!).
Okay...now it's too much caffeine...gotta go clean the refrigerator or something.....

damn! it's thursday already!

Hey, sorry I haven't been around to see anyone lately, but it's really been a busy time, like it is every October - January!! In our family, this is the 'birthday season', and it's always crazy!
Tif's 23rd birthday party (the family one) was Sunday evening, and everyone in Kev's family was here, + my mom! And she got tons of stuff, gift certificates, etc. We got her an mp3 player, and she had really wanted that!! She also had a birthday party that Saturday night at a sports bar, and about 30 people came...they also got to watch the OSU game at the party. By the way...I've been totally floored by the cost of professional scissors and clippers for hairstylists! Since Tiffany's started buying her scissors, which she can mostly get only online, or at beauty supply stores, where you need to have a beautian's license to shop,I've found that the scissors that your stylist uses cost at least $200 - $300 a pair!! So...tip well!! :-D!
Oh, I almost forgot about "wounded Wednesday"...it's at the top, and that is my leg, so maybe it's also an hnt too, even though I'm not usually big on those. And I honestly don't remember how I got this. Oh well. I do this a lot, so the bumps, bruises, and fall-downs happen too much to count.
Anyway...Tiffany and I went out to the mall here in town yesterday, and got manicures & pedicures...my nails haven't been painted for years, so it feels weird...but I'm glad we did it. But I didn't get fake nails, so they're short! Okay, this is maybe kinda dumb, but I have a question...did anyone else see the 'Seinfeld' show where Elaine was pissed because all the manicurists in a shop were Korean, and they'd look at her and say something in Korean, and then they'd all laugh? Well, this store was awesome, and it was all Koreans only working there, and I'm sure they're who own it, and they were all speaking Korean to each other. It really sounded neat to me, though. One of the girls looked at us and said "you probably think we sound like a bunch of birds or something huh?" haha! I actually was thinking just that, but, do you think I'd admit that? hah!! And the other girl doing Tif's fake nails across the room, asked her if we were sisters or just friends...wow, did that feel good, or what! As good as being carded to buy cigarettes when I was 28!
Okay, gotta do something around here...

sunny and 50-ish...woohoo...my kind of weather!

Email friends are GREAT!! Well, we've met for dinner a few times & she & her husband came down for Tif's graduation party! I got a little teeny box in the mail a couple of days ago, and didn't have a clue what it was, cuz I haven't ordered anything from eBay lately! And I opened it, and there was this cute little beanie baby kitty, with this note! Yes, it had a definite AWWWWWW factor! Even Truman sniffed at it, and gave it his approval! (but he will NOT share his food!)

Just an idea here.....a shout out to all Democrats running for office...you're running FOR something, you're not just running AGAINST George Bush!! If that's all you got...why should anyone vote for you? Just so you can figure out what to do after??

Okay...done. Has everyone seen the cover of the newest Maxim magazine? One of the articles in it is 'How To Live To 130!' Sorry, but in my opinion, for most people, they would never want that. I know for sure I wouldn't! Hell, some days (most days, actually, lately...), I wonder if maybe 42 or 43 might not be just too fuckin' much time! No, seriously, think about it for a minute. That would mean that you'd probly have to watch your friends, kids, grandchildren, even, your spouse all die before you. Cuz even if you all did the same thing that this article said (which, no, I didn't read it , just see the headline every day in the bathroom!), you know the chances are that a lot of people wouldn't be able to live that long! So, besides everyone you know dying, and you being left alone, what else? Well, how's your money doing right now? And your Godforsaken health insurance? Are you ready to bury at least 10 of your family pets, one after the other? Will you be able to take care of yourself and stay in your own house? Or will you be 'warehoused' in a nursing home by your great grandchildren, who never even knew you very well, and who might think you're basically 'taking up space'! Eeeeewwww...the whole train of thought is just too depressing for a sunny day...I might have to revisit this sometime...

I am REALLY looking forward to the OSU/Iowa game tomorrow night!! Usually I don't give too much of a shit about college football, but this year, it's pretty exciting.

Another stupid question...when someone says 'I'll be back, I gotta take a shit.' Well...wouldn't that technically mean that they're giving a shit?? And wouldn't it be a really gross-out thing if after they went in the bathroom to "take a shit", they came walking out carrying a turd in their hand and they said "Got one!!" God help me, I'm just sick...see ya...

randomness again...

Okay...I didn't take a picture of my scabby knees for "Wounded Wednesday", so maybe these will suffice...I figure if you sat on the toilet without checking for spiders (or snakes!) you'll BE wounded! And the kids with the paint? I'm thinking as soon as their mom catches sight of this shit, well, their butts will be wounded!! lol!
Just wondering 'bout some stuff...
Does anyone know for sure if Preparation H truly would be good for bags under your eyes and puffy eyelids? Cuz if it is...sign me up for a lifetine supply!!

In the summer of 1995, Tif & I used to go up to Lake Erie almost every Saturday (like to Port Clinton...great town!...and to Marblehead, to the lighthouse! great town, too!) It was only a 3 hr drive, & it was WELL worth it! Because Kev worked every Saturday at the store he was at, and I was at GTE by then, and had weekends off, and it was for EVER ago, when I could still drive, Tiff and I used to just take off on Saturday mornings, and go up to the lake (Lake Erie). Port Clinton has a cool little beach along the main street, and Tif and I used to go up there and go swimming, and just walk along the beach, and explore stuff. I took loaves of bread a lot and we used to take it out on the beach and when seagulls came flying by, we'd rip up a piece of bread, and throw it up in the air and they'd catch it! Honestly, that wasn't our superb aim, either, just...talented seagulls! And once a seagull saw another eating, well, you better throw more...and more...and more...to infinity! That's why I always took 2 or 3 whole loaves of bread with us! Once we got done on the beach, and went down the street to McDonald's and got Big Macs & french fries, and went out back to the part of the beach there and threw french fries to the seagulls, and they liked them too (huh...go figure, right? ;-D). But the next time we went there, McD's had a big sign inside that said "Please do not feed the seagulls french fries!" WTF??? Why?? Do they get constipated or something?? Oh well, whatever! There was an ice cream place across the street that had better food anyway. SO THERE!
And we went to some of those hokey little tourist attraction thingys up there. One was the prehistoric forest...it had all kindsa mechanical pterodactyl birds flying around, and dinosaurs around every corner...and there was a giant caveman looking out a hole in the cave we went through, and Tif was afraid to walk past it! lol!! fun-nee!!

random Monday thoughts...

Just random shit, floating around in this thing called a brain (to use the term loosely~!)
Hmmmm...because of the commercial on tv in Ohio, against Mike DeWine (who I got a real physical letter from last year in the US mail, complimenting me on one of my letters to the editor in our paper!), I'm totally reminded of some songs Tif & I used to have a cassette tape of and we used to sing it together ALL the time!! The first one I think of is, "Willowby, walloby, wanya...an elephant sat on Tanya!!" I know whose album that was...do YOU??
When Tif was about 10 or 11, Kev & I were married, and I was a produce mgr at a store up in Findlay (I LOVE that town!), and I needed a babysitter for the weekdays. One of the girls that was a cashier there, said her mom babysat for her kids, and offered to watch Tif, too, all I had to do was drop her off at her house on my way to work, & pick her up there after work! And her house was only a block from the store, so it was perfect! So Tif rode an hour up there every morning with me. A lot of the time she slept, but other times she'd tell me the dreams she had the night before...that was REALLY neat! One I'll never forget is when she had a cold, and a huge hypodermic needle was chasing her all over the house saying c'mere! you need a shot for your cold!! sorry...I still hafta laugh about that one!! And once when we were out in the country on the way up there, she was asleep, but I saw a pheasant fly over the car~! It was amazing looking!! Yeah, I'm a total 'city slicker', but I can still appreciate the wonders, right? Then on the way home, we'd come into our town out past a farm (gone now...the new high school is out there!), and Tiffany always rolled her window down and yelled "MOO!!" at the cows that were 'outstanding in their field'! Haha!
We went to Cedar Point when she was 5, before I was even dating Kev, and she didn't even want to get on a merry-go-round with me! All she wanted to do was stay in 'Bear Country', ya know, the Berenstein Bears? She sat in there with me & Sister Bear, and colored pictures all day!! She STILL talks about that!
Kev & I went to the Cleveland Clinic last Thurs for an appt with my ms dr again. I've asked her "Why do I hafta come up here 3 times a year for? It's truly not like you're gonna come dancing out here yelling 'They found a cure!'?" She just laughed and shook her head...then sent me to make my next appt for Jan 2007. Well?? I can ask! She did notice that when I was standing, my left leg is 'hyperextended'. And now that she mentioned it, I notice that ALL the fuckin' time!! Oh well...I'll do more stupid exercises, & just deal with the shit! Yeah, I'll play the damned hand I was dealt...(bitching & whining & pissing & moaning all the way!)...but I DON'T have to be happy with it!! Boy, does the 'dealer' get an earful from me every night! I figure that sooner or later, I'll just get a recording saying "This extension is out of service...please, never call back..."
Pittsburgh Steelers lost to Cincinnati yesterday...I wept for them (nahh...not really...I was pissed, though!). Big Ben needs some time off, I think. He is a great quarterback, but he needs to take time to heal physically from everything! But, HEY!! OSU won again Saturday!! Next Saturday night at 8 pm ET, it's Iowa in Iowa!! WooHoo!
Maybe more 'randomness' tomorrow!

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

Okay. I decided that since I have never, ever participated in HNT, well, henceforth, this will be known as "Wounded Wednesday". Yeah, I know the table is a f*in' mess, but it was totally dark in here when I got up in the middle of the night, and went around the corner from the bedroom to the bathroom, about 3:30 am. When I turned the light on in there, and turned around to shut the door, uhhhhh, well, is that a comforting sight to see at that hour?? Or, well, at ANY hour!! So, make sure you all participate in "Wounded Wednesday" next week, okay? Don't leave me hangin'....
A few years ago, when Tif was into UFO's and everything with me (now she's not...'Mom, that's stupid!') we were outside and noticed a light outside in the sky, acting kinda weird, and I said, "Hey, let's follow it!". So we did, it was headed to the east, and we got almost all the way out to the highway that goes north/south, and all of a sudden I just got a real sick feeling in my stomach, and told Tif I was gonna pull over at a gas station out there and call Kev (nope...this was before everybody had cell phones attached to their hands), cuz I was getting kinda/sorta weirded out by the whole thing...so I pulled over to a pay phone out in the dark outside the gas station, which was, of course, closed. And of course I didn't get out of the car, I just rolled the window down and picked the phone up to dial...and there was no dial tone. I know, I know, big deal, it's a pay phone at a gas station, near a highway...most of 'em probably don't work! But still....it WAS creepy! So, we just gave up, didn't feel like following it anymore (ok, ok, maybe we were scared!). And we turned around and came home, tumbling into the house, both blabbering all over each other to tell Kev what'd happened. The next morning, I was in the car on the way to work, and had an AM news channel on for the news (& Rush, of course!), and heard that the cult members of Heaven's Gate, who had been telling everybody that there was going to be a UFO behind the Hale-Bopp comet, that was going to pick them up & they'd go to heaven...they were all dead on beds, covered with purple cloths?! Okay....I'm usually not bothered by UFO stuff, but...this honestly did creep me out a little...
Remember when there was the total solar eclipse in 1994? I was working an hour north of town, and Tif & I were all excited about it...we even took a trip down toward Columbus to the planetarium to get some glasses to watch it with! Then we found out that it would happen on a day I had to work....bummer!! So, I decided I'd go in to work at 3 am that morning, and work til 11, then come home & pick her up at school and we'd hang out in the yard with Buffy, our beagle (at the time), and watch the eclipse. We looked forward to it a lot, and talked about it a lot...then Tif came home from school a few days before it, and it turns out the school had gotten her worried about being out watching that!! The kids were not allowed to go near the windows during it, no outside recess, & when I showed up there that day to pick Tif up, they had sheets of cardboard covering every fuckin' window!! Holy shit!! How 17th century could they be?? If I'd been a teacher, I'dve had those kids going with me to the planetarium to get glasses for each one of them, and it would be a science class! And I know they'd remember it for the rest of their life!

monday, monday....

Okay, does everyone just think this is SO WRONG??? This picture was in our local paper the other day. The kid found it when he was fishing in a pond close to his house...which, by the way, is about 20 minutes away from mine!! An eight-legged frog, in case you can't count the teeny little legs growing out of its chest!! EEeeeeewwww!! And this kid actually touched it!!
Other local news...last week they found 2 or 3 dead crows in the schoolyard where Tif went to K - 5th grade. About 6 blocks from our house. They tested them right away, and they did have West Nile! The news wasn't in the paper for a couple days, the only way Tif found out about it was because a mom was in FS with her kid for a haircut, and the kid said something about it, cuz his school sent home a paper telling the parents about it! 2 days before it was in the paper!
And there are various & sundry other 'odd' things going on in this area, some that can't be spoken of....
Anyway, I was just talking to Boo on the phone, and, she was telling her kids to get away from the food, dinner was almost ready! Then she told me, "I'm gonna hafta kill that kid!" And I said, real quick, "Well. Oh shit, I gotta go!" She said "Why?" I just said, "Well, duh. If I hear you kill him, I'd be a fuckin' material witness! I have enough stress in my life at the moment, thankyouverymuch!"
I was telling her about the 8 legged frog too, and she was pissed because, all those Sundays all of us cousins were together at Grandma's farm...well, WE never found anything cool like that, and God knows, we went through the woods & streams up there ALL the time! Found lots of spiders, snakes, strange bugs that looked like they had inadvertantly been brought up from the 7th level of hell, badgers, woodchucks, etc...but NOTHING had eight legs! Well, except for the spiders, and they were s'pozed to!!
Okay...Mom just called, and she still says she mostly feels fine, but today she is tired. She said last week they did a blood test that showed she was anemic, so they've started her on Procrit shots & B12 or whatever to increase the iron, and her energy, which is very good! Kim asked me today if Mom was still driving by herself, and I said, ya, she drives anywhere she wants, to the mall to shop (remember? that's her job...), out to the hospital for blood tests & for the chemo. So, yeah, she's still doing okay (or so she says, anyway), she wants to get to FS so Tif can give her a haircut & perm soon.
Okay...that's life in 'weird Ohio'! Oh, before I forget... http://msnbc.msn.com/id/14834763/?GT1=8506?GT1=8506

i'm ready to friggin laugh! can i get an amen here??

I guess it's true...apathy is just "pissed off...but no energy to do anything with it..."
Fuck!! I wanted to write something funny here today!! Gimme a do-over...

What's some of the funniest commercials you've seen lately? Maybe I'm just searching for funny shit, but I LOVE the Capital One credit card commercials that've been on lately! We went out in the backyard over at Kev's mom & dad's right after dark one night over Labor Day, and a couple of his uncles were sitting around the campfire, drinking beer, roasting marshmallows, and singing "Burn the village to the ground...doo-dah, doo-dah!" LOLOLOLOL!! Or the one where the family hops a train and the dad points to the hobos in the corner and says "Look kids! Vagabonds!" And the daughter says "What smells like old cheese?" "That's just Earl..." LOLOLOL!! Yes, everyone...I amuse easily...
Doesn't anyone besides us 'get' the band "Great White"??? I've loved them since I first heard them, they had a concert with Whitesnake in Toledo when I worked up that way, and I went out & bought the first tape of theirs I could find!! The song "Rock Me" has the sexiest guy's voice saying "c'mon & rock me..ahh, yeah"...my friends & I used to melt over it...and, yes, that was back in the 80's...so what?? Guys were guys then! Not that they aren't now, but, well, I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I think women can handle 'rough boys', ya know? We really, truly totally appreciate the nice, wonderful, helpful things you do for us...but sometimes we need to do shit we can do ourselves, even if you want to help!
Okay....off the rant again...these songs are great too...'Mean Mistreater', 'Mista Bone', 'Unskinny Bop', and 'House Of Broken Love'.
The actual song stuck in my head morning to night lately is Kid Rock's 'Only God Knows Why'...and, of course, the line from the other one 'I'm just sittin' here, wastin' time, drinkin', smokin', tryin' to ease my mind...'.
I was telling Kev last night what Kim told me she did to her husband when he snores at night...she reaches the fuck over and pinches his nose so he can't breathe!! Kevin just looked at me sideways and said, "And how would you like to die if you ever do that? It's probly gonna hafta be in the bathtub, so I won't have to clean it up before work..." Oh, the love...
Geez...see how much of a better mood I'm in if I open a beer at 5 pm? (NOT vodka, mind you!). one a day...baby steps...
By the way, I had my very first jello shots at the 'Lazy B campout'! Jill made them all (tons of 'em!). And she is GOOD at it!! Thanks, Jill, if you're out there...remember.......they're "JILL-O SHOTS"!

Tuesday, 9.12.06...

http://www.break.com/index/how_to_lose_your_job.html... Everybody!! This is the funniest thing I've seen/heard in forever!! I really hope you can get it, cuz you'll laugh your asses off! (God knows, it's the first real laugh I've had in months!)!
Well, I called my cousin, 'Boo' last night. When I asked her if she was busy, she said yeah, but she was just making dinner and could talk. I said 'Boo, c'mon, you & J have 4 kids!' (I say that when she says she's washing dishes, too, but...). She says, "Are you suggesting we eat them?". HAHAHAHA!! I love this woman, can you see exactly why she's my favorite cousin?? I HAVE to get Tif to go up to her house soon! And, she's the kindergarten teacher...did you have a kindergarten teacher that actually had a sense of humor? Well, okay, maybe she doesn't say that kind of thing to her kindergarten kids, they'd be scared of her, but, shit, I never even saw a kindergarten teacher smile sincerely, they're always too stressed!!
Speaking of stress & conflict, I'd like some opinions on those things...
Has anybody ever heard of a life between two people without 'conflict'? And if there ever is such a thing, well, is it truly because there's no conflict? Or is it because one person doesn't make their true feelings known, to avoid an argument? Because, in my opinion, that is really not fair! If you're not telling what you think, how in the hell is the other person supposed to know? Because there are no conflicts or fights, because one person keeps their mouth shut, the other person thinks everything is fine, while the other person is quietly getting ready to boil over, and it's always hidden away. So when the tipping point is reached, well, it's not a total surprise, cuz things haven't been right for awhile, but, it's a lot more of a surprise than it would've been if there had been some 'openness' up until this point. Why would it be fair to hide everything you really feel, and let it build up and build up, and build up more, until it finally gets to be too much, and you blow up? And then you don't want to fix it. The only thing I can think is that either it's too much work, it's just not worth it to try, or, you might be afraid of your feelings and confronting them. But, that's just my opinion, there's lots of couples in this situation, more than you'd ever think....so what do YOU think?

festival weekend

Popcorn Festival Parade...

Last night was fun, Kev's bro, sister, bro-in-law, & the twins came over & we all went down so the kids could see the parade, which they've never seen before...and, that was really cool, watching them see this stuff for the first time! Kev was still at work, so he couldn't go...that's ok...he hates parades, anyway. I thought it was good (for this little hick town, anyway!), but it was way too long, and, as Tif puts it...it was random! As in, everything was just kinda thrown together, not grouped together, like schools, businesses, hmmmm...Kat & I were talking about it this morning, and she started a sentence with "If I ran the parade...", and it sounded funny as hell, like a children's book or something! There were some things in there that didn't even seem like they even belonged in a parade! Like one of the last pickup trucks that went past. It wasn't anything extraordinary, or anything...just a plain white pickup truck, not junky or anything, but not decorated either...not a float, nuthin....just 2 guys sitting in the back of the truck, and 2 hand-lettered signs on paper on the sides saying Kevin & Sean! Now THAT was some funny shit!! Oh! Well, they were eating popcorn, so I guess...

And I guess I'm not the only one who's ready for this weather and Halloween, either! There's a costume store in town, and they had a dark gray hearse, and a scary looking, dead looking guy, dressed in raggedy rotted looking clothes dancing on the top of it, and it was blasting the song "Monster Mash"!! And there was a few little kids running around from there, handing out cards that advertised the haunted cornfield they're going to have. And someone else had a skeleton walking around that was about 20 feet tall...I guess it was made out of PVC pipes, with a skull on top! I have a picture of it on here.

It was actually fun riding in my wheelchair down to the end of our street to the parade route. Benji pushed me in the thing...you know, he's a big nascar fan, so...I thought I was gonna need a helmet & a seatbelt!! Especially as we hit all the cracks in the sidewalk!

after the Lazy B...

Okay...let me say...I had the very best time this weekend at "The LazyB Campground"!! Sometimes it was a little 'disconcerting', cuz we were staying in the house next door (which Ken owns), and in the middle of the night and early in the morning (although nobody was loud), people who had tents or campers out back would come in the back door of the house to the bathroom, or to shower in the morning. Cuz they could've either used Kev's mom & dad's house, but ours was the 'secondary' one! So Sunday afternoon, we were all sitting around b-s-ing, and one of the cousins said it oughtta be called the lousy B, cuz, for heaven's sake, he had to wait for a bathroom!! They didn't even leave a BUCKET outside the tent to piss in!! HAHA!!
Saturday was the Mexican Fiesta, where most people dressed in Mexican costumes, and there was a costume contest...which of course, uncle G won, cuz he was in a dress, and wig, and had big earrings made out of canning jar lids!! May I say, he actually looked good...even with a mustache!! And the kids (about 6 or 7 under ten years old), did a pinata, then after that the adults had their own pinata with stuff like mini bottles of booze, and packs of smokes, and lighters, and notepads, and stuff as prizes! To qualify for entry into the breaking of the pinata, the adult couples played 'The Newlywed Game'...it was fun...we didn't win, but we did get to help break the pinata. Then we played 'Bean The Beaner', where Kev's bro stood behind a big wooden thingy of a Mexican guy with a hole cut in it for his face, and we all got to throw pies (well, whipped cream on paper plates) at his face...and Kev helped me, he pushed me up to Ken, past the line (yes, I cheated!), and yes, I hit him too!
And all this stuff was after we'd eaten all we could of everything Mexican that everybody made for dinner. And fried ice cream...and Texas sheet cake...mmmmmm!
Saturday, there was golf, and then everybody got together at 5 for the big LCR competition. There were tons of people that played, probably about 40 or 50(?).And there had been a $5.00 fee for each person...I have NEVER, EVER played that game before...NEVER!! However...I ended up winning!! And Tif was pissed, cuz she was the next-to-last person out! So later, when they awarded the prizes for everything (a lot of gift cert's for people who helped set everything up)......and I won the LCR trophy, pictured above, + $50.00!! And there were some badminton trophies...you can guess...there was the golden cock, and the silver cock...
Sunday was a 'community breakfast', where everybody cooked something for breakfast, outside each of their tents & campers, and in the houses...Kevin made the sausage gravy & biscuits, and in my opinion, that was the best! But the eggs, bacon, hash browns, english muffiins, toast, everything else was good too!! Now, does everyone see why I like to have prednisone this week?? There's ALWAYS food there!!
It's totally amazing that this family doesn't have arguments when everybody's together for this long! Well, one person was being 'standoffish'' all weekend, and I got about as much disrespect as I could take, but...water off a duck's back...there was family there from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania...really cool!

Lazy B Campground...where all the fun is this weekend...
