...bang your head...

Madness is the ultimate flexible bullet...
...and that will make absolutely no sense to anyone who isn't at least halfway there...
Anyway, I'm still reading 'Skeleton Crew' by Stephen King. I think it's his best short story collection he has, even though it was done in the early 80's. I LOVE short stories, but even if you don't like them, these are full stories, almost like short novels. There's all kinds of them that I forgot all about! I'm kinda like 'Mrs Todd' in Mrs Todd's Shortcut...all she ever wanted to do was drive...
Next I'm gonna start on "Lisey's Story", by Stephen King...and that's about the only one I got that I've never read. I also got (on eBay), a book that tells about each of his stories and books he's written, and things like where he got the idea for each one, even the poems he's written. And in what section of the University of Maine it was in, and whether it was unrestricted or if you have to have SK's written permission to look in there! I got that one from somebody in Australia, the book was just released the first of February there, and I bought it that day. The book was only $25.00...howEVER...the airmail shipping cost $26.00!! Didn't matter, it was worth it. And it got here in about 5 or 6 days! I still have over half the gift certificate for there from Christmas. I did bid on a signed copy of one of his books, but I f*d up, and didn't bid enough. And it went for less than $100.00! That came from a bookshop in London. I love getting things from that website!! Someday, I'll turn around and sell something on there...but it will NOT be any of my books, G*dammit!!
Actually, the time we had a big garage sale at Kev's mom & dad's, we were putting prices on everything, and we had an old scanner we were selling. So, I was putting a price on it, and inadvertantly opened the lid, and there was a picture in there...and it wasn't one I even recognized! I took it out, looked at it, showed everybody, and they said they'd never seen the people in it either! So...I just took the picture over to a table, and put a little colored circle on it with "25 cents" on it...it didn't sell, but it sure did get a ton of attention!

Saturday...24th...

Okay...the picture on the right is our cat, Truman. We took that the first day we brought him home from the animal shelter...and how perfect is HE?? I still find it totally amazing that he was still there after a month!!
And the other picture is of the house I grew up in. This picture was taken in, like, 1922, or somewhere around there. The guy in the picture was President Harding's secretary, and he lived in that house at the time. President Harding's house was right behind this one, and I learned to ride a two-wheeled bike in the parking lot out back! (cuz when I was little, they had lots of tourists there all the time to go through the house). That's the house he made his famous 'front porch speech' from. (his house, not ours).
Okay...I'm hearing all about kids being abducted now. I am SO lucky that things weren't this bad when Tif was little...or if it was, I didn't hear about it! But I did worry about it, probly more than most parents did. I had an ex-husband to worry about...'nuff said. So, we were never apart, except when she was at her babysitter's, who I always trusted completely! And one of the first things she learned was that she was NEVER, EVER, to go with anyone but me, my mom, or dad...even my friends or relatives, unless they knew the 'password' I told her! And she still remembers that word to this day!! Also, I'm thinking about the fact that I really think people ought to make sure their kids know...you NEVER let a kidnapper take you to a second place! You might have a chance to get away from them at the first place...your chances of getting away alive dramatically decrease if you're 'docile' enough to go to another place with them!

Friday, Feb 23...

Randomness...
Thinkin' about more weird shit today...wouldn't it be weird if, all of a sudden, all the lakes and bodies of water, even the oceans, were drained of water, just for a week or so? Just so everybody could find everything that's been lost down there? Like cars, airplanes full of people, my God, could you even begin to imagine what's under the water on the earth? Bodies of a lot of people that have been reported missing...cell phones that people got pissed at the person they were talking to, and tossed it over the side of the boat...everything in the Bermuda Triangle that was supposedly lost there...
"Reality is a crutch for people who can't handle drugs..."
Ya know, if I was in a car that suddenly went out of control on the highway, I think, no, I know, that I'd grab the steering wheel and head straight for the biggest concrete thing I could see, so I wouldn't end up half alive. The WORST thing in the world would be to be, like, brain-dead, and living in a hospital bed forever...I can just see my grandchildren someday..."It's Sunday! And we have to go to the hospital & visit 'Grandma the Turnip'! What a waste of a perfectly good Sunday! Groan, groan..." Aaaauuuuggghhhh!
Allright...enough depressive shit for one day...but, hey, that's what a blog is for, isn't it?
I got the book I wanted on eBay the other day, 'Skeleton Crew'. It's an old book of Stephen King's short stories, and the very first story in it is my favorite, it's called 'The Mist', and a long time ago, like in the mid-80's, Joe and I were both Stephen King's biggest fans, and, actually, we decided that the store that all the people were stuck in for days, was just exactly like the first grocery store I worked at (the one where Kevin worked and Joe was a stockboy there, that's where I met both of 'em.) Plus Kev's 'little' brother, Ken, who was also a stockboy for a while, til he went back & cleaned the meat room in the evenings, which had to be the nastiest job in the world...you know, sticking your arm down in the drain to get the chicken guts out and all...eeeeewwwwww! Nasty with a capital 'N' !! That's why I went from cashier to produce mgr...for the most part, produce is clean!! (unless it's rotten and slimy, of course...). One of the weirdest things I ever saw was when one of the truck drivers showed me what happens when you take the broccoli out of the case it came in, and put it in a sinkful of water with salt in it...you oughtta SEE all the little green worms that squirm out!! Here is also a reason to wash your produce when you get it home...

Tuesday, Feb 20th...

Is this not the perfect house, or what?? It was halfway down the block from the house I grew up in, and I always totally LOVED it!! I was never actually inside it, but my mom's best friend and her husband owned and lived in the house right next to it,(in the left of the picture) and when I was teeny (like up to age 5 or so), I remember trotting down there holding 'Mommy's' hand (so I didn't get run over or anything, ya know? cuz we lived on the other side of the street) to go see Mrs. Green, for tea & cookies in the mornings, I even remember my favorite teacup I used to drink out of! She had a little gray/black poodle named Gidget. And when we left there, if we didn't have anything important to do, like walk down to the library, or anything, we'd walk through Mrs. Green's backyard, and go to the Isaly Shoppe for lunch and ice cream. And after that, we'd go across that main street to a grocery store, & get the stuff 'Mommy' was gonna make for dinner. And you know...this is like the few blocks I grew up in, especially before I could drive! The very first time I ever "French-kissed" anyone seriously was in the back parking lot of the Isaly Shoppe, around midnight on July 4th when I was 14! Wow. How weird. That was that 'first Kevin' I went out with.

And the grocery store that was across that other street? Well, that's the first one I ever worked at, and met Kev, my husband, at!

OK...I really don't have a clue where my head is at today...

Was thinking about something yesterday...very strange, doesn't involve me or anyone (well, except Psycho...but who counts him?). Thinking about the Oedipus complex, and the guys I know that have it. I only know of 2 guys that have it (Psycho's one!), and both of whom have moms that didn't work outside of the house. Anyone who knows anything about this, can you tell me...is it just a coincidence, or are guys more prone to this if their moms are home instead of working 40 hours a week? And, are girls more prone to the Electra complex now that their dads are closer to their kids now? I have no idea why I'm thinkin' more about psychology now. I guess I really wish I would've gone farther than 1 college class in psychology. 'Course, who knows? They might've committed me if I did...I dunno...okay...time for me to go...

17th anniversary...

Wow...I guess we're officially old now...17 years...I just gotta say...wow! We went out with Kevin's whole family last night to Applebee's...that was a lot of fun. We all go out for dinner together every year on Feb 15th, because his mom & dad's anniversary is Feb 15th, and ours is the 16th! Of course, WE did the whole thing in 2 days...rings, marriage license, everything! haha!
So, since we put Vista in, we haven't put the card program back in, cuz we might want to get a different one. But Kevin made me a gorgeous Valentine & a gorgeous anniversary card with the Microsoft PowerPoint program. I have NEVER EVEN OPENED that program, don't know jackshit about it! But...it's so totally easy, I can't even believe it! I dug around in the programs on here, found it, read through it, and had a card made for him in about 15 minutes!! This is SO cool!! Now I'm gonna get into this kind of stuff, now that I know how well it's explained in here.
Okay, so get this...my mom came over the day before Valentine's Day...and she gave me a Valentine's present (which is pretty unheard of in my family...I never even got a mother's day card from her on my first one!). It's one of those Hallmark cats that wags its tail, and talks with a French accent. And...Bro came over the next day, and HE gave me a Valentine's Day card! And huge hugs, and I love you, Little Girl...you're my favorite sister... :-D !
And Tif decided last night that she's going to try to get on 'Big Brother' this year! I printed out the application for her this morning...it's 16 pages long!! That's gonna be exciting for her/me...if she gets in! One of her friends got to a third interview a few years ago, and, damn, my daughter is SO much better than her!! (you know me...I'm so neutral...).
All right, gotta go...got cookies calling...Oreo peanut butter filled 'double stuf'!

we have vista, & i love it!

I guess I'm just not into Valentine's Day this year. (sad...).
We're supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow today and tonight...hmmm....was talking to Joe, my friend, this morning & I told him that, being kinda excited and all...he said, yeah...you know how that goes, a guy says that, and...I broke in right there and said "Shut UP! Speak for yourself!" Then we were talking about how we used to both LOVE snow driving! When we'd go out and it was snowing, we used to fight about which one got to drive!! One night we went out while it was snowing like crazy, took Tif over to my mom's for the evening, then went & got a 12-pack of beer and just went driving around in town here, (it was late, so there was nobody out walking). That was SO much fun, we weren't driving like, wildly, reckless, speeding or anything, just talking and laughing our asses off at stupid shit!
Anyway...I promised to tell ya if I liked Vista, and I do! It's awesome, and I haven't even begun to get into it and play around with it yet!! I do know that the graphics are great! Kevin installed it Saturday night, and it wasn't a pain-in-the-ass for him to do it. Of course, he is a computer guru...not a geek, just a plain ol' guru! You know...one of those people you bow down in front of and say "I'm not worthy...I'm not worthy!"
So, my cold is pretty much gone by now, but...what do I do last night? I was looking around for something to snack on while I was reading one of my new ebay books...I go out in the kitchen, and see a pack of grape tomatoes (like cherry tomatoes, but better), grabbed it, and took it in the bedroom where I was reading & watching Glenn Beck, Opened the pack and just started munching them. I ate probably 4 or 5, then just sat there for a second, and realized, after all my preaching to y'all, I didn't wash them!! Holy Crap! I'll probably be dead by next Wednesday! Especially because this morning I went out to the refrigerator, and got the bag of white grapes out and did the same fuckin' thing!! Well...at least I'm okay on the banana I had last night...no washing required!
I remember a long time ago when I was produce mgr at the store up north, we had grapes in the ad, and in the middle of the week, it was all over the national news that all the Chilean grapes had to be pulled and recalled...ALL OF THEM! I was a small store, and had just gotten a delivery of about 1000 lbs of grapes for a display. So...over to the other side of the building with them to the dumpster! Except for the handful I put in a bag & gave the store manager (a new one...we didn't get along), with a note...'Love, Libby'

...and now, i have a freakin' cold, too!

....Haaaahhh-Chooooo!!!

Sonofabitch!!! HOW did I catch a freakin' cold???? Honestly, I have not been outside, or around people...it's not like I was out at a grocery store, pushing a cart around that has germs all over the handle (I really don't think customers think twice about the cauldron of germs they put their hands in when they get a cart & happily wheel it into the store! Do you the uninitiated have a half a clue of what all I, as someone who once had to go out to the parking lot, and bring them back inside, saw happening before I touched the cart (with gloves, I might add!...which I usually threw away once I got inside!). Customers, and their kids, who were all dirty, grubby, either had runny noses, or in the warmer weather, were just plain ol' digging in their noses, which, may I add, isn't a pleasing sight to see when it's a person walking down the produce aisle, trying to find that one PERFECT TOMATO by picking up each one of the 50 lbs of carefully stacked tomatoes on the 'community' display that everybody gets to choose part of their family's dinner from. Mmmmmmmm... There are lessons to be learned here!! Hear me, and hear me well!

Shit...I did NOT mean to get off on a rant about that...all I'm saying is that...for heaven's sake, wash your hands! I'm just sayin'...

Okay...anyway...another lesson here...wash all the produce when you get it home, before you eat it!

So when I was in the bathroom this morning brushing my teeth, well, ya know when you've been blowing your nose nonstop for the last 24 hours, (I shit you not! I went through a whole entire box of Kleenex, then got down to where I had to use a whole roll of toilet paper!). Be that as it may (I know, TMI), I thoughtlessly started to brush my teeth (with my usual cinnamon gel toothpaste), my hand shook a little (as it is wont to do...), and my Crest spin brush pro slipped out of my mouth and up onto my upper lip...loaded liberally with cinnamon gel toothpaste, mind you.Ya know how when you blow your nose that much the skin tends to get a little bit...well...tender!! So...it felt like I was sandpapering my skin, with an automatic sander, loaded with cinnamon!! Oh, Jesus Christ bananas, did that HURT! All right...that's the saga of the day. Like I said, we did get Vista late yesterday, so my next entry will be after Kevin puts that in, so wish us luck!!

Thursday..

Clear
9°F
Feels like: -3°F

Do you believe this shit?? Right now, it's 12:57 pm. And, yes, believe it or not, I've been up since 9 am. And I keep watching for DHL delivery truck. Kevin ordered Windows Vista from Dell, the day it was available to order off the website. A few days after that, they emld that he couldn't get it til March 9...then they emailed him Tuesday morning, said it shipped out that day, and it was coming on overnight delivery...in which case it should've been here yesterday, right??? Well....I'm still waiting!
Schools all over the place are closed, delayed, their water pipes have frozen & broken, or they have no heat...Woo Hoo! Yeah, like I care! Shit, exactly how spoiled are the little kidlets these days? Well, lemme tellya, and I think you'd all agree with me...If the heat went out one winter day at our school, we'd be told on the radio that there was no heat in the building...so wear lots of warm clothes! Yup...simpler times....one of my VERY FAVORITE TOYS was a big ol' bedspring-looking thing, called...a SLINKY!! And people are getting shot over a PS3? Heck, Tuesday morning (Tiffany Tuesday!), she was giving the weather report on the station, like always...and from 6 to 9 am the temperature was -5F, wind chill -12...
No wonder a woman called the station that morning and reported a penguin standing out beside rt. 309.
That reminds me of the time when Tif was maybe 8, I was looking out in the backyard and saw a really pretty bird, and I said 'Tif, come & see what 's in the backyard!' She was heading out there and said 'What?'...I said I think it was a kangaroo...
Okay...I've got another huge piece of pineapple upside-down cake calling me! hear it? "Eat me, eat me!!"

it's a monday....but...the colts won, just like i thought they would!!

Okay...I know it isn't Tiffany Tuesday yet, but she put the laundromat lotto pictures up this weekend, so, if you feel like laughing, go here. But, make sure you go pee first...I will NOT take any responsibility for your messes!!

Damn, it is SO freakin' cold out today!! Our local city schools were closed today because of the wind chill factor being at 20 below 0! Actually, that was announced that they would be yesterday! That's so not fair! When I was little, the only time they closed school was during the blizzard of 78 or 79!

OK...Gotta go!

rabbit, rabbit, + 1

Picture #1 is just wrong. Wrong, I tell ya!!
Well, 2 days ago, I got a prescription from my Dr at Cleveland Clinic for Klonopin, which is supposed to help me sleep through the night, without muscle spasms, like restless leg syndrome (which I always thought was just a myth!), with an added epileptic medicine to take care of tonic-clonic seizures (which I've had, but seem to be under control for the last 6 or 7 years with Lamictal), and it's kinda like Valium. All this from a .5 milligram pill at night! Damn, it's like a freakin' miracle! Anyway, I woke up last night around 1 am, sneezing, with a total cold, and I got up & sat in the living room for awhile. Then went back to bed, & slept til 1 pm, but I STILL feel like shit!!
Bro called me after I got up, he wanted to tell me that Mom had a PET scan the other day (which I had known about!), and his wife went to the dr with her today for the results, they're GOOD, they don't see any more cancer!! And Bro said that doesn't necessarily mean it's gone permanently, but it IS in remission!! Then he asked how I feel about having to go to my Dr & an occupational therapist in Cleveland, now it's to get fitted for a freakin' wheelchair!! God, that HURTS to type! crying....
Okay...I THINK I'm under control. Anyway, Bro said he wants me to get an electric wheelchair to save any energy I have. I said, well, I'm sure Dr Stone will prescribe one, the only thing is insurance probly won't pay for all of it. Then my Bro said "DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT!! Whatever one you want, you pick it out, and whatever insurance doesn't pay, I WILL!!" Holy crap! Like I said, he is the BEST brother in the world! That's it here...

Re: saying #1...my work here is almost done.
When you hear certain songs on the radio, does it take you back to where you were the last time you heard them? I mean seriously take you back, to where you were standing?? I was listening to 'Tiffany Tuesday' yesterday morning at 6 am, and they played "Throwing It All Away" by Genesis. My God, that just started it all! I remember that song from the first store I was at, here in town, where Kev was assistant in the meat dept. And that song was always laughed about first thing in the morning every day, cuz I had always gone through the produce aisle, and pulled all the 'garbage' (stuff that wasn't good enough to sell), and was pushing the cartful out the back door to the dumpster...the other guys that worked there were always calling that my theme song!
Another song I always remember from a certain place is "King For A Day" by the Thompson Twins. That played on the radio on WLVQ-FM every Sunday morning at 8 am, in around 85 (?). Yup, it was, I just checked. And I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. No, but, I always remember songs because of the people who were most influential in my life, or the places that were most important to me then. Don't you? How 'bout Corey Hart's "I Wear My Sunglasses At Night"? or "A Room With A View", by Lou Rawls? I remember both of those from when I worked in Bucyrus, with the store manager we called (behind his back, of course!), "you fuckin' wop", cuz his license plate started with 'UFW'...and he was very Italian & a macho pig! And all of the George Michael songs, like "I Want Your Sex", and Cinderella's album, "Long Cold Winter", with "Comin' Home"...and Great White, "Rock Me" (oh, Jack Russell's voice on that song!), and "Mean Mistreater"...on the way home from working an hour north and driving home at 2:30 in the morning after the bars closed...or Heart, "All I Want To Do", from when Kel & I went on vaction up to Marblehead, in, well...a long time ago! Or Boston, at a concert with John, & Tom & Tom's wife...
Well, I think I'm gonna go to eBay & 'browse'...I still have $100+ to spend there from Christmas & Bro. Who I just a few minutes ago got off the phone with. I love him so much! He always says when we hang up, "Bye. Love ya Little Girl!" How could ANYONE not love that guy??

almost time for bunny, bunny...

Well, these two would fit my mood today...'nuff said about that...
Mouse called me today at 11...that surprised me! It was really neat though, because I had just been thinking about her. A lot of it was because her birthday is Feb 11, and some was cuz she worked at the same store up north that I did! She's the one that I hated from the first minute I SAW her when she walked in for the interview. And it was mutual...I was always 'that skinny blonde bitch in the produce dept'. But, we got over that after we got drunk together a few times...
So, she called today, and we were on the phone for an hour, and she was catching me up on what this person & that person were doing now. And then she said, "Ya know, I'm really surprised that we ended up being friends." . Thinking about it, I'm very surprised too, although not for the same reason she thinks. She figures it's because (John) left me to go out with her. But, she knows I didn't care all that much about that, cuz we all used to go out partying all the time, & after Mouse was his girlfriend, it was Denise, who also worked at the store, then it was Tammy, who also worked there! Yes, he WAS a whore-dog, okay? At least I was first! Mouse & I used to have fun talking about him, comparing notes, and all that...& laughing our asses off at the other girls who went after him, and when they got him, you could see them thinking "I'm so special!"...sorry...meow!
More of a problem, I think, would be if Mouse knew I went out with two guys that she was after the whole time I worked there. Carl, who was married, and Tom, who was also married! I knew both of the wives, and they were nice. But I never told Mouse about the time that Carl (who also worked at the store, he was the night manager) was talking to me & said he wanted to go to a festival in a town about a half-hour away cuz he & his wife weren't getting along (no surprise there.....). He asked if I wanted to go with him (we were good friends), so we went over there and went on the rides, hung out in the beer gardens, and just messed around...The next day at work, Carl's wife called me, and asked if I knew where Carl had been the night before...no, uh-uh, don't have a clue. Then Mouse came in to work, clocked in, and told me she could NOT find Carl amywhere the night before! Oh, holy shit. I just went back to cutting watermelons up, and never said shit. That was like 'Peyton Place' up there!

Monday, Jan 29...

I had a really cool dream last night. It was about when I worked an hour north of here. That store was kinda yuk and old, but I liked it. Actually, the store itself was very old, but I liked the people there. The co-workers & the customers!
In the dream, I was moving stuff from one display to another, mostly it was 3 lb bags of onions, & I had a huge display on a table with about 20 bales (each bale had 12 3 lb bags in it), with a basket of fresh jalapeno peppers in the middle. And I remember Max M, a Mexican old man who lived out in the country and grew them & sold them to me up there, kept coming in and bringing me more bushel baskets of peppers, and saying, "No, no, don't pay me for them, just take them! I have too many!!" And a woman kept bringing carts over with 10 lb packages of ground beef in it, and getting another cart full of onions & peppers! And then I woke up. Hmmmm....is anyone mystified why I woke up hungry for Taco Bell??
That store really WAS one of the most fun...mostly because everybody, employees & customers, had senses of humor! (which seems to be in short supply lately in the world...MY world anyway...). I remember a guy that had a condo behind the store, beside a lake, and his name was Mark. He was in a couple times a week, and really nice (& cute, I guess, but I never thought of that..he looked more like a brother-type). One time he came in while I was building a display of yams & sweet potatoes (yup...there's a difference) at Easter-time...we talked for a second, then he started to push his cart away down the aisle, and all of a sudden I tossed a yam, about a 3 lb one...BIG! from behind him, into his cart. He kinda jumped a little bit, & turned around and said, "What's all that about??". I just smiled and said "It was a yambush." He laughed his ass off, then I said, "Watch out when ya go around the corner to the meat department......they're planning a hambush." Geez, it's shit like that I miss!! That's the store I built the end display of prunes, with 4-pks of toilet paper on either end. And I always wanted to make a display with a big bin of cantaloupes lined with cases of beer and a big sign above it saying something about welcome to where the beer & the cantaloupes roam...That would've been the perfect store for it! That was also the store where I glued a quarter to the floor, and all the employees used to hang out in my back room, and watch people trying to pick it up!!
Working up there really made me appreciate how nice it is to have an hour drive home alone after work, so if I had a bad day, I could get rid of it without taking it out by yelling at Tif!

Tiffany Tuesday...

Yup...me, this morning...

But...my 'little Tiffany Pooh-Bear' brightens my day every Tuesday morning on the radio...and especially today. I was rolling laughing!!

First they were talking about the new world sport of pillowfighting! They said the competitions started in Canada, and then came here through New York! I'm sure that's gonna be done next week!

Then Tif was bitching about being bored!! The guys asked if she was a competitive type of person, and she said yeah, sure, she played soccer in high school, cross country, was a cheerleader, etc...then they asked, well, if a guy beat you in a race, what would you do? At least she was honest...she said, "Well, I'd run up and dance around him yelling 'WooHoo, I won...he lost!!'" to which all that was heard was groans, and 'No wonder you go through boyfriends!'

Then they decided they had to do "Tiffany Games"...they gave her aa choice of thumb wrestling or leg wrestling...she said thumb wrestling...they said, "Okay! Leg wrestling it is!!" Hmmmm...She actually lost that, but she did acccidentally kick Gary in the face!

Then she and Gary went to a laundromat to do "Laundromat Lotto"! They got there, and Gary dumped 40 ping pong balls, each with a number on it, in a big dryer. Then he boosted Tif into the dryer and made sure it was set on low heat. Then he closed the door and turned the dryer on, and all that anyone heard over the radio was "Aaaahhh! Oooowwwwww! Aaaahhhhhhh! Help me!!" Gary opened the dryer door every five seconds and hzd her hand him a ball with a number on it!! So they got 6 numbers. And I didn't write them down, but I guess they'll be on the website of the radio station, WDCM . Nothing is up there yet from today, but...I can't wait!!

Friday, Jan 19th!

Wow, I'm in such a good mood today, I can't believe it...something must be wrong.."the sky is falling, the sky is falling" said Chicken Little.
Naww...I know what's up. I'm finally getting all of my Christmas pairs of jeans exchanged & stuff! WooHoo!! No, I had on my list that Kev used to tell everyone what I wanted 'size 3 straight leg jeans'...got a bunch of wide leg in assorted sizes...haha! Sorry...I don't mean to sound picky or ungrateful. But anyway, I can't wear sz 4 women's yet...I guess even though I'm 42, my butt must not be a woman's sz yet...so I'm still stuck in junior sizes. So, Kevin fixed my 'little red wagon'...he went and took the 4's back, and got me sz 3 skinny...and, yes, it actually says skinny on the inside of the back! But, who cares? They finally fit! And now I have 6 new pairs of jeans for Christmas!!

I know a lot of people have a hard time losing weight...I'm here to give the 'fair & balanced' other side of the story...some of us truly have a really hard time gaining weight, no matter what, how much, or what time of day we eat! But, nobody ever talks about us...or if they do, they say, 'they're just anorexic & bulimic!' Nope. I eat more than most, and the only time I've ever thrown up for the most part, is because I drank too much.

Hey all, have you ever seen movies or videos where they run it backwards? If you have, have you ever thought about how funny it would be if someone took the video of their baby being born, and ran it backward? I bet that would win some major money on America's Funniest Home Videos! Sorry, I can't...this 'baby factory' was shut down after the first one...due to pain!
Tif was on a little clip for AFV one time, and she told a joke, cuz they were at the mall filming..."What do ya call a vegetarian with diarrhea? A salad shooter!" She was about 8 or 9. And no...she didn't get that joke from me, either!

Well, Kev did go to Best Buy yesterday, and he got some kick-ass speakers (Klipsch brand! better than Bose), and got 'em hooked up to the computer last night, and they have a big subwoofer on the floor under the desk...and today was 'testing' them. That's okay, we don't have neighbors anymore, well, for the most part, we don't. Next door, divorced & moved a few months ago...straight across the street, well, I don't know, just gone....2 doors down across the street, for sale. Hmmm....was it our fault?? Anyway, if anyone would've heard it, they would've thought 'those damn kids' parents must be gone again!', cuz we were playing Great White, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Queensryche, etc...

Okay...gotta go!

tiffany tuesday...on kevin's birthday!

Hey everybody!! Tiffany Tuesday was fun this week! There's some pictures on the website where they had her dress with firehat, boots, and a hazmat mask to go through everybody's desks in the office, and, believe me, when ya see the pictures, you'll know why...the expiration date on the milk carton she is holding up (from Shawn's desk!) is December 11!!
They did this cuz yesterday was national 'clean out your desk' day, allegedly.
When Gary said first thing at 6:00 am that yesterday was a national holiday, Tiffany yells, "Yeah! It's my dad's birthday!!"...and she told him he had requested some Def Leppard on the morning show...Gary said not unless Kev called in, and, of course he wouldn't, but he did text Tif on her phone...but they wouldn't count that! Puh-leeez...then they play Guns & Roses right after...sheesh...
Okay...they also had a very funny discussion about Boza beer...check that link out...it's hilarious!
And next week, laundromat lottery starts! I have no idea at all what that is, all I know is that the last thing Gary said before they went off the air was "I bet you never rode in a dryer, before, Tiffany..." I laughed my ass off cuz she has! She and one of her friends used to ride in an old dryer in the friend's basement (no heat...just their old dryer they weren't going to use anymore.).
Kevin's birthday party was over at his mom's house last night, and we all had a lot of fun! And he got a lot of presents, it always works out good with his birthday being that close after Christmas, cuz we always know what he wanted and didn't get for Christmas! Of course, he is a guy (duhhh), so Best Buy gift cards are always perfectly welcome! There is no better place for him to spend a day browsing.

OSU sucks (or blows...whichever's worse!)

...or..."It's all fun & games until your wiener falls off..."

First of all (well, I guess it would be second, huh?), I have to put a disclaimer on here about how every name of everyone I have EVER used in here is a total fake (yeah...I lied...just like EVERY writer in the world...except maybe the writers of the Bible...and, how would you know if they did? For all you know, "Jesus" might be "Mike"). Well, I am Libby, but you probly could figure that out...who would EVER choose that name for themselves?

So, I just thought I oughtta do that, you know "names have been changed...to protect the guilty". That's from an AC/DC song, but I'm not sure which. Oh wait! It was 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap'! Or, like my friend's little sister used to sing "Dirty Jeans, Dungarees!". She always thought she had it right, so far be it from us to break her heart!

Anyway, all of Ohio is SO TOTALLY humiliated about the national championship game last night, so don't even try to pretty it up by blaming it on bad calls, injuries, etc...someone called the radio station this morning and said, "But they won all their other games...look at the bright side!" If I'dve answered the phone, I would've given her a resounding (and wet!) 'phhhhttt'! I don't wanna talk about it any more...

Okay...today was Tiffany Tuesday again, & it was good! I actually got to disagree with my daughter on the air! Woo hoo! heehee! They were going over Tif's 'celebrity news flash & trash', and she mentioned Kid Rock wanting to kick Tommy Lee's ass on New Year's, then she was saying that Tommy Lee was better looking than Kid Rock...and that was all it took! I called in and told Gary? Sean? I dunno...whoever answered...that I HAD to disagree with my daughter...Kid Rock is WAY better looking! Look at him in 'Joe Dirt'....at least HE knew how to be clean & take a shower!! And then they patched the call through so I was on the air too, and we got to argue with each other on the air. Then Gary mentioned how we must get along like oil & water at home. I told Tif 'well, you're not allowed to date anyone that looks like Tommy Lee' , which Tif came back with 'Mom...I'm 23!' I said 'Fine! Just don't bring him home for dinner or anything!' Mind you...this whole exchange was broadcast live to the city. So, here I am, 42 years old, arguing with my daughter live on air about whether Kid Rock is better looking than Tommy Lee...then she whips out her 'coup de gras' "Yeah, but YOU thought Bucky was cute on American Idol! So what?? He IS/WAS! And so it goes...

Anyway...that's pretty much what's up here. I'm a few days behind in reading 'The Purpose-Driven Life'...just because, well, life really sucks for me now. Yeah, I know..."Libby, then this is the time you need to read it!"...but, I'm reading my old Stephen King books...the REALLY old ones, that have been in the bookcase just looking nice for a long time...and I DO mean a looooooong time! So far, I've read 'Bag of Bones', 'Cell', 'Hearts in Atlantis' (that's a good book!), 'Black House', and now I'm on 'Dreamcatcher'. I've had all these books for years, but some of them I never finished, and, reading them now, I'm thinking WTF?? Why in the world didn't I??? And I do have a Christmas present movie I hafta watch. Which one? Oh, of course, it's 'So I Married An Axe Murderer'. Woohoo!! Thank you for passing that knowledge on to the person that gave it to me, Miss You-Know-Who!!

Go, OSU!!!

Ya know what? I wish I'dve seen these before Christmas!

I did get a couple really awesome sweatshirts for Christmas, though...one has the cute little bunny on it, that says "You'd be cooler if you were me." and the other has Eeyore laying on the ground, saying "Wake me up when it's over..."...and, of course, I wore that on New Year's Eve...not that we went anywhere, mind you...

Talked to Joe again today...he was talking about this 'friend' of his, that he likes, and she likes him...only problem is...she's married, and is still living with her husband! Ouch! I thought he knew better! But he says they're in love, and even if it's when he's 100, he knows they'll be together someday. Hmmm...well, I hope he gets that......but, anyway, this was really funny...he said something about her husband is from Syria. I started laughing, and said, "Do you think that means he's not circumcised?" I just got a "hmmph! Libby, that really wasn't one the forefront of my mind!" Then, I couldn't let it go, I'm so glad he's an understanding friend. I said "You mean the foreskin of your mind? Ba-da-bing!"...(from Joe..."Sigh")

"...you don't really love me...you just keep me hangin' on..."
I'm really getting sick of this 50 degree weather in Ohio!! It's frickin' January!! Come on!! What about the people that want to play in the snow? Or that got boots for Christmas?? Or all the kids that want snow days? Global warming, you say?? But...you said last time that that was why it was cold, Mr Gore. I think I'm missing something, Mr Gore. Can you explain it again, sir?
Shit. Here I go again, being a smartass. Oh well. That's me. Love me or leave me.
Has anyone read "The Purpose-Driven Life"? Jill got me that for Christmas, said it's good, so I started it last night, and I'm reading it the way it says, one chapter at a time. How-EVER...I fell down today, got stuck, and totally let loose! I truly let loose with a string of words that sailors are afraid to use!! No, I'm not hurt, just pissed! I said all kind of stuff about if THIS is the purpose of my life, well, He can have it back, I'm DONE with it!! Pee-shaw!

Thursday...

Once upon a time, somebody asked, "What color is fun?"...all I can think of as an answer is..."black & shriveled up...like my heart"...
Allrighty then...I won't rant here...all I can say is..."SHIT, OR GET OFF THE POT!"
Well, everybody here will be happy & relieved to hear this...I just called Kim, first time we've talked since October. Did you catch that? I called her! Pretty much because Bro called from Arizona, and I mentioned that I hadn't talked to Kim in that long. He was quiet for a minute, then said, "Libby, she's been your best friend for 30+ years. You know how she is...she always has spoken before she thinks. C'mon..you're bigger than this...right?" Dammit!! He's so calm, cool, collected!! Thus the reason he has a successful business, I guess...and has had the same secretary since before he started it! So I thought about it for a long time, then realized he's right...I AM bigger than this! I called her, and mostly listened, cuz I'm actually better off only listening to her, not talking to her. :-D !
And Kev was just talking about how much Bro & I are like each other. I already know how much we look like each other...after all, when I was the produce manager at the last store I was at in this town, I was on the sales floor doing something, and I heard a woman say, "Libby?". I turned around, and there was a women who looked vaguely familiar, and she yelled "I KNEW it was you! You're XXXX's baby sister!! Remember me? (yeah, right!) I was one of XXXX's friends when he was in high school! I used to come over all the time when you all lived at the house on Church Street!! You STILL look just like him!" Holy mother of God! That was in the late 60's/early 70's!! It's a really good thing neither of us is 'infamous', isn't it? You know, if we were a murderer or something? Or, well, it could be worse...I could look a lot more like Psycho...

Jan 3, 2007...

Well, here we go again (on my own?)
Yesterday was Tiffany Tuesday...and I freakin' SLEPT through the first hour and a half of the show on WDCM!! Can you say, "Wow! What kind of mom are you?" So, what I heard was funny as hell. They were comparing local bars & clubs, and Tif said she liked XXXXX...that was really funny, cuz that's the bar that Joe works at. I remember when she was 20 and out with her friends, she called me on her cell phone, and she said "Mom, you'll never believe who I'm sitting here looking at, 5 feet away from me! Joe XXXXX!" And I just said "What? Get out of that bar immediately, you're too young!" I knew exactly where she was, cuz he had always wanted to work there, and I heard he was, as a second job, after he got married and had his kids. That used to be one of the places we used to go drink at 20 years ago! Along with the raquetball club, that was fun, too...And she was telling the other morning guys there about Don't Date Him, Girl website, and they were like, "What? There's really a website called that?" And she said yeah, it even has our town in it!! So, of course, they had to go there immediately and check it out!
Anyway, that's about all there is to talk about today...what about everybody else? Any New Year's Resolutions made/broken yet??? I resolved a few years ago to never MAKE another resolution...now THAT one I've kept!!

the year in review....

yeah...I sound as ancient as Chet Huntley or Walter Cronkite or old Life magazines here! But...out with the old, saddest year of my life.

Best friend of about 30 years...gone...too bad...but a best friend is supposed to make you feel better, not worse...and if you tell me my life is immoral...this year, that's honestly not what I needed, to be judged like that.
Hooked back up with two of my best friends from the drunk years and life's a lot smoother. Nice talking to Mouse more, she told me the other day that I'm one of her friends she's had the longest, mainly because her local friends from high school told her she's not bouncy and happy anymore, and I seem like the only person that can understand why...holy crap...THAT'S LIFE!!! Am talking to Joe again, he's living with his mom & divorcing from his wife of 15 years...he misses his kids a lot, but sees them a couple times a week. He's also had some health problems this year....as a matter of fact, I called his cell phone once a couple weeks ago, he didn't answer, but called me back about a half-hour later, and told me thanks, I STILL have my good timing, he had been in the middle of a prostate exam...and all of a sudden, his pants across the room started ringing! HAHA!! Sorry, but ya just can't help but laugh...but, it's probly not a good idea to startle the urologist at that moment...
Dad died this year, I didn't see him all that much, but I did talk to him on the phone more than I had been, and we were getting along better than we had in years...I missed him a lot on his birthday, Dec 27th.
Psycho has actually proven himself to be just that...he's done some shit that, well, is just over the top that I haven't even dared to write in here...because I'm ashamed of it! He's not...he brags about it...
Stuff's happening here on the home front that I haven't written about either, nor will I...I just pray for life to settle down to near normal...
Mom's got the stage 4 lung cancer, and getting chemo for it. She usually says she feels fine, but lately hasn't felt as good. Still praying for her all the time too...
Kevin's spinal fusion he had years ago still hurts bad every day, and he still hates his job...'nuff said...
Tif is doing incredibly well, I am SO HAPPY for that!! If I had to choose one person in my life to be doing well, it would be her, hands down, no choice!! I had my chance at 23...now it's her turn!
My ms still sucks a big one, but...well, I guess it could be a lot worse...at least I haven't lost anything else this year...except my happiness and positive attitude...I'm calling this "the year of the tear"...
DrOoPs!! Goodbye 2006, thank God you're gone!!

recovered from Christmas....

....yeah....it honestly DID take me a good two or three days to get moving after Christmas!! It was better than all the former ones, though! Every year it just seems like it's better than the last...how long can that possibly happen?
We all went to Bro's house on Christmas Eve for dinner & presents...and we had a lot of fun! Even Psycho was there with Mom, and he was actually being rather sociable! (odd). He actually talked to people! And when Kev, Tif, & I left, Bro, his wife, and all 4 of his kids & his son's girlfriend came up (from the sunken living room) to give us all hugs...and all of a sudden, Psycho popped out from the other living room around the corner, and was shaking Kev's hand, then he hugged me so tight that I thought my whole top half was gonna pop off and bounce down into the fireplace!! They have 2 dogs, one of them is, umm, well, kinda, a regular dog, but she only has 2 legs. She is SUCH a good dog! And their other dog is a teeny little purebred Yorkie or something...and she is the MOST lovable dog (except Jenga!) I've ever met! Even Kev had her on his lap most of the night, and usually the only animal he likes is Truman!
So when we got home, it was about midnight, and Tif took off upstairs to bed (she said she was tired, but I think she was afraid Santa wouldn't come if she was awake! heehee!). Kev & I finished everything (cuz, of course, there's no presents under the tree until Santa comes in the night!), and got to bed about 3 am...but I felt like a little kid myself!! I don't think I slept AT ALL that night!! Luckily, Tif didn't let me down...6 am on the dot, she was crawling in bed with us, "C'mon, guys!! It's Christmas morning!!" Keep in mind...she's 23!! But, ya know, I wouldn't have it any other way. When she was 10-ish, it wasn't just crawling in bed, it was jumping on the bed!!
We went to Kev's mom & dad's about 10 am, and were there all day, probly til 8 or 9 at night! Tons of presents for everyone, and over there, we open presents one at a time, and of course, the 5 year old twins were there, so that was a lot of fun to watch them!!
I called Mouse yesterday, and she said her Christmas was good too...she has a 15 1/2 year old daughter, and she told me that her girl has been nagging & bugging for a brand new car for Christmas. Which in itself is kind of funny, cuz #1, she can't drive by herself, & #2, Mouse is like us, not even close to having that kind of money, for heaven's sake! So, Mouse said she got a set of car keys, and was gonna put them in C's stocking with a note that said "Your car's in the garage", and was gonna buy a Matchbox car & put it in the middle of the garage. Ouch! But she didn't, cuz she thought about it, and figured that her daughter would start crying, and she'd feel like shit, so she didn't. I'm proud of her for not doing it...but I'm prouder of her for thinking of it! I think that makes me mean, though, doesn't it?

Tiffany Tuesday...

Well, I made it through the 17th...now I'm in a great big hurry to get/give Christmas presents!! Woohoo!! I'm just now watching a movie I forgot to ask for!..."So I Married An Axe Murderer"! I LOVE this movie!!
So today, obviously, was 'Tiffany Tuesday'. It was fun, they were doing a contest by playing a movie line and you had to call in & tell what Christmas movie it was from...the prize was some chocolates from a candy store in town. Tiff immediately announces "Mom! I hope you know that! Call, cuz I want those peanut clusters!!". But, of course, I didn't...it was 'Scrooged', and I never saw that.
And at the end of the show, they had the city's fire inspector on talking about fire safety around Christmas and all. He was saying that candles are very dangerous, and, especially if you have a real tree, keep all heating stuff (including candles!) at least 3 feet away from it. So Tiff busts in with "Does that mean I shouldn't use my candle-lined tree skirt?" :-D!!
Anyway...so is everyone ready for Christmas?? Huh? Huh?? Oh, wait, I have one more question....we never send Christmas cards anymore (a quaint old custom, is what I call it...but that's just me...), but....is it my imagination, or are lots of people not doing them anymore? Like, is life too busy to do Christmas cards anymore? I have absolutely no business saying that, since I don't do 'em anymore, but I just don't do them cuz I can't write anymore...but what's your excuse? haha! But I remember when I was a little kid, Mom spent almost all month doing them, and we'd get probably 50 or more a year. I used to send cards every year, and was pretty good at keeping up on it. I do remember one of the first years Kev & I were married, we were getting Christmas cards almost every day in December. One day, I had just gotten home from work, come in, shut the door, and all of a sudden somebody's knocking. I turn around and open the door, and it's the mailman. He hands me a Christmas card envelope, I take it, and he says "I'm sorry, ma'am, but there's twenty-whatever cents postage due on it...they forgot the stamp, and I have to collect it...". Talk about embarrassment for that guy!! And talk about more laughter about it....the card was from Kev's mom!!! That's gonna be family history forever!
Well, I did order one/two more things yesterday, but I'm totally not even hoping they'll get here before Christmas...I got one pkg yesterday, but, damn, there BETTER be a whole lot more here in a day or two!
Okay...gotta go start making the list of gift cards we still need for people so Kev & Tif can get them before Christmas eve at Bro's! Don't you LOVE when people say that all they want for Christmas is a gift card to XXXX place?? I know some people like presents to be more personal, but..well, you know, if it's someone who doesn't know for sure what they want right now, but they know where they want to get stuff, well, what's better than to give something you know they want?? BTW...Bro & his wife's 30th anniversary was on my birthday, too!

Friday, Dec 15,1006

...and, dammit, I turn 42 Sunday! That so sucks!! Ya know, I think what is the worst thing about that is that the next important birthday is 50! That's going to crush me, more than 30 or 40! I figure 40 is at least halfway through my life (maybe it's more than halfway through...some days lately, I really hope it is!), and, what've I done? Yeah, I have a great daughter...but, I did that when I was 18! I guess I'm always here for her...but, what if the best parts of my life are already over?? I honestly don't want to live so long that I need to be 'taken care of', I went through a couple years when I let Kev do that, and it didn't work for either of us, until I finally decided to do everything I still can. And I never, ever want to get to that point again, where I just kinda give up on everything! After 12 years, I should know better than this! Well, I'm on the third & last day of my iv steroids today, and that's helping my mood a little...no, I guess it's helping a lot. Oh, I found a cool website, probably not something anybody without someone in their life with ms would be real interested in, but this guy is funny...http://multiplesclerosissucks.com/...

Yesterday was 'Tiffany Thursday' on WDCM...she couldn't be there Tuesday, cuz she's been sick since Sunday...went to the dr Monday, and he told her to stay home til Thursday and take antibiotics for 10 days...tested for strep, but she didn't have it (good! me getting steroids kills my immune system, and I don't need any extra germs!). So, she decided last week that since they had a 'people party' at the station, they had to have a 'pet party' this Thursday! About 6 or 7 people showed up with their dogs, + Tif with hers and Zak's dog, Jenga, the Papillon. Or, as Tif calls her, 'Princess Jenga'! She really is the best dog, though! Even though I'm not a dog person, I LOVE her!! One of the people brought his Jack Russell...Tif said it didn't even look like a Jack Russell terrier, it was so fat!! The guy that owned it told them, in a bragging way, that it weighs 35 lbs!! Tif said it actually looked like a footstool!! The pet store here in town had donated lots of doggie treats and presents for the dogs...there were pig ears. Gary tried to give Jenga one, and Tif threw a fit on the air! "Don't give her those! I don't want her to have those! The pig might've had a disease or something, & I don't want Jenga to catch anything and die!!" Meanwhile, the Jack Russell is chomping away loudly on them...but he had a whole lot more weight than Jenga...she's like, maybe 12 lbs!
So I'm in a better mood today. Besides being on steroids, I actually ordered most of our Christmas presents yesterday...web shopping is the BEST!! And Kevin got big stuff yesterday too. I told him, "See? We do our best work under pressure"...after all, we dated for 4 months before he asked me to marry him, then we were engaged for 62 1/2 hours before we got married! And our 17th anniversary is in February.
Okay...I hafta go find a few more things for Tif on the web...today's the last day I wanna order off here...

Wed. nite to Thurs whenever I get up!

And Our Friends...
Tiffany on TuesdayOur "official" morning show hair stylist---and our newest "Queen of Morning Perkiness" Listen Tuesday mornings for Tiffany's Celebrity News Flash...and Trash!

How cool is this?? This is on the WDCM website where it introduces the "good morning show" team! But...queen of morning perkiness?? I beg to differ...haha!
Anyway...more bragging, since the radio station only reaches this county...the lead morning guy, Gary, told Tif that he knows she's 'the most popular', because they get the most phone calls when she's on the air with them! Actually, this week, I was the first person to call them at 6:10 am, because Gary was joking on the air that they were gonna fire her cuz she was almost late. I called, Gary answered, and I said, "Gary, how can you fire her?? SHE'S A VOLUNTEER!!" He laughed, then patched me through so my phone call was on air too...and he was making fun of her cuz the first thing they had done when she got there was have her gargle and sing a Christmas song! And she's never actually gargled before, so she was spitting water all over the place...the guys were soaked!! Actually, he jumped all over me, because, as her mom, why did I never teach her how to gargle?? I said, 'I was afraid she might choke...obviously, it WAS the right decision, huh?' He laughed and said yeah...it would've been a mess! Then they played another Christmas song, "Walkin' Round In Women's Underwear", and I got off the phone. Then Tif was talking about how wrong that song was, it gave her goose bumps! My mom also called to say that her brother had the record with all that guy's songs on it, but she hung up before they could put her on the air. Then Kev's mom called in, to give a "public service announcement" about her church's upcoming play this weekend. Then Kev's sister called in, and they ended up talking about how over the weekend, she & Tif were talking about a George Foreman grill, and Tif called it a 'George Michael grill'!
Then they were asking Tif what she took at the Career Center high school, and she said, well...cosmetology was her first choice, but it was full...then she tried horticulture...but it was full too...so she took culinary arts...but to this day, she HATES to cook!! She told everybody about the time she was making Christmas cookies for the Rotary Club meeting, and it called for a teaspoon of ground cloves...she used (by mistake!) a teaspoon of WHOLE cloves!! And she told everybody about the time she 'caught on fire'! They used gas stoves out there, and her oven mitt caught fire, but she didn't see it until one of the guys walked past and said, very calmly, "You're on fire, Tiffany.". She started screaming, and running around, waving the hand with the oven mitt on it around in the air! Why in the hell she didn't take the mitt off, nobody knows! Then her chef jacket caught fire too and she really started screaming!! Gary & Sean were laughing, and asked "Hasn't your mom ever told you 'stop, drop, & roll' either?? She said YES! But you really aren't thinking when you're BURNING!! Luckily, the guy that told her she was on fire got a wet towel and threw it on her! So, thankfully, I still have a daughter!! Then Chef H. , her old teacher, called & said she was coming to their Christmas party at the station Friday morning...but only if Tiffany didn't cook the breakfast!!
So, Tiffany's official morning Christmas song is "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas"...they'll play that every Tuesday morning for her.

...a blue Christmas...

Yup...I was looking all over for Truman this morning, and I finally found him!! Doofus cat! He decided yesterday that this is his favorite place to be, cuz he can see everything and I hafta get on the floor to see him!

Tiffany always puts the tree together now, and puts all the lights on it, and everything...if even one light isn't in the right place, or one branch isn't bent the right way, she's on it immediately! She and Kevin are both so precise and perfect when they do this...I wouldn't have the patience to be that exact about it, but I'm happy they do! Cuz pretty much, my hands are so clumsy, and shaky, I can't do it anymore. Boo! The southwestern border at the top of the wall...well, the blue parts of that are my pride and joy, because Kevin and I did that in 1993, before I knew I had ms, or had any symptoms, and my hands weren't shaky, and I was standing on top of a freakin' ladder with absolutely NO balance problem, and, obviously my hands were steady! Grrrrr....oh well...I know God never gives you more than you can handle...(but he has to know I'm weaker than this!).

Zak came over while we were putting up the tree, and we were telling him about funny stuff that's happened since we've lived here...such as...

The girl across the street that lived there for the first 5 or so years we were here, that was at one of Tiff's b'day parties, that we had mini pumpkins hidden in the yard with numbers I wrote on 'em,and when the kids found them, they'd run up on the deck, and give them to me, and I'd give the the prize with that # on it. So that girl, she was kinda "big" (around), and she found the first pumpkin, and came running up the steps with it...Kev had the camcorder & was taping the whole thing, and you saw her start up the steps. All of a sudden, she tripped on the top step, and in the tape, you see her running, yelling "yay!", and hear footsteps on the steps "thump, thump, thump" and all of a sudden you heard "ooof" and she disappeared! She was ok, but it was funny as hell! (to us, anyway!). That was like, when she was 6 or 7.

A few years later she had an ongoing feud with a girl on the next street, and they got in a fight across the street, and Tif pushed her over backwards off a brick sidewalk wall, and the 'pummeling' ensued! By both, mind you! This is a good middle-class neighborhood. Two cute little blonds, beating each other up in someone else's front yard! The next day, a "Crime Watch Area" sign was put up by the curb...in front of our house! And, 15 years later, it's still there!!

One of the coolest things was when 'Uncle Ken' used to come over in the evenings in the summer & play "Go To Court" (I have no idea how that's played, but it kinda sounds like tag/hide-&-seek type of thing) with all the kids around here, probly about 10, at that time. I actually miss hearing all the yelling & screaming outside in the evenings when there used to be little kids in this neighborhood. I never thought I'd say THAT!!

And when it was Halloween...we made a haunted porch, with all kinds of scary stuff, fake spiderwebs & all...and Kev's brother & sister & their girlfriend & boyfriend used to help, so when kids got up on the porch, there was a 'maze' of cut up trash bags to separate some parts...and there was a different monster-type behind every one! One year we had a microphone on a stand and Jill added some screams in there every so often! Now THAT was funny, cuz the next day at work, customers at the store I worked at were asking me "Did you HEAR that last night?" And those people lived blocks away!

And the first or second year we did it, it was so scary that Tif wouldn't walk through it to go pee, I had to take her around the house & in the back door, and then back out the back door! Of course, she was only 7 or 8...but it was all her relatives, and she had been watching us getting ready!

Or the year that I told her she could hold a bowl of cooked spaghetti behind a stand and tell kids it was where the candy was...she did that, and everybody stuck their hand in and said 'eeewww'...except one little boy, who took a handful and put it in his bag, and said "Thank you!".

Okay...maybe I'll continue this in the next few days...remember, everybody, tomorrow is

Friday...rabbit, rabbit!

More Christmas stuff...

Okay...it's colder & windier than, well, I guess it wouldn't be hell out...but holy crap, it sounds like the shutters are gonna blow off the house! At least it's not as bad as it was a few hours ago...then it was like, 30 or 40 mph with 50+mph gusts!
I've found the very best Jell-O puddings in the refrigerated section...they're the ones that are chocolate pudding layered with something white (kinda looks like spooge...but let's not go there...). I finished a cup of it, and was walking out to the kitchen to throw the cup away & asked Kev, "Do they sell these in like, a 5-gallon size, do ya think?"
The lead morning show guy on WDCM told Tif the other day that she's so good on the radio, she could take one of the tapes from one of the two morning shows she's been on, and go to Columbus, and probably get hired immediately! Said he's jealous, cuz he's been doing this for 25 years, and she's better than him after two 3 hour shows! I actually worked with him and a lot of other dj's at another station when I was in Junior Achievement in 10th grade.
Truman's acting like a total fruit loop lately! He always follows me in the bathroom when I go pee, but lately, I blow kisses when I get up from this chair & say, "Come on, pretty boy, let's go have a pee party!" And he hurries up & gets up from wherever he's lounging and hurries in there! Yes, I swear, he IS a cat!!
Well, I'm done, nothin' else is goin' on...

More Christmas sweatshirts...

I seriously DO want the bunny sweatshirt that says "Cute but Psycho"!

This is where you can find some of the funniest Christmas gifts EVER!

Well, today on WDCM was "Tiffany Tuesday", as they've started calling it on the morning show! And here's the radio station's website. I'm really sorry, but I HAVE to brag about her! She called me after the show, while she & the 2 guys from the morning show were out for breakfast, and one of them yelled "You've got a great daughter!" The real reason she called me was to make sure I TiVo'd Dr Phil, cuz she wouldn't make it home for it! It's really cool that she does this every Tuesday from 6 to 9 am. She introduced the guys to the word "cankles", which they said they'd never heard of! Huh?? What rock have they been living under? But then one of them put "cankles" in Google, and I guess that gave pictures that explained it! And she's the official "celebrity flash & dash" girl!

Damn, I'm so proud of her! She has a sense of humor that's so much like mine it's unreal! The guys were promoting some senior citizen thingy, and one said it would include advice on falls...you hear Tif laughing in the background, and one of the guys said "WHAT is so funny?? That's serious!" Tif says "Watch where you're walking?" I guess listeners are calling in all morning about how good she is! And, right after the 'cankles' discussion, they played the Rod Stewart song "Hot Legs"....Bwwaaahhhhaa!

Okay..."Mommie's Brag Time" is over...Now I hafta get off here and eat a chocolate chip cookie dough Pop-Tart!
